About this ebook

The orphaned son of a Vietnam veteran who died in combat whilst his wife died during childbirth is " adopted " by pragmatic shepherd farmer's at the tender age of ten. They are about to shoot the runt of the litter. An almost pure white Shetland sheepdog that has a black patch over one eye. The boy pleads for its life and is grudginly given it as a pet sans pocket money. The boy names his dog Blackie. And Blackie watches over his master.

Insane human which makes me a vulcan anything is better than being the weakest, hence most violent species in the known universe. I was born standing up and talking back and I'm a pacifist! So no hope for us. We're born to die because our instilled ego makes it inevitable. You have probably realised by now that I don't like it here. I wish you were all dead, or had never been born. I come in peace and mean no harm, yet I long for all of you to be reduced to pieces; just like dinosaur oil.Mad, bad or sad That's me, see I wouldn't wanna be you. Yeah, baby, I'm grieving. We all need redemption.

There was a lull in the fighting. Just long enough for me to take a refreshing swig of water from my mess canteen. The first drink I had in over four hours of almost constant action that had been raging over the last three days. We had lost seven good men of the 31st U.S. Infantry Regiment and twelve brave ARVN soldiers. In this unbearable heat, it was the best drink I ever tasted. It was also my last.

    Suddenly all hell broke loose.
