WANTED:
U.S. SENATOR
Do you like meeting new people? Is it your dream to help others solve their problems? Can you give inspirational speeches to raise money or convince people to agree with you? Have you ever been curious about what a senator does? If you answered yes
to any of these questions, then becoming a senator may be for you!
Requirements for Being a Senator
There are three requirements for this job. They are spelled out in the United States Constitution.
To become a senator, a person must be:
at least 30 years old
a U.S. citizen for at least 9 years
a resident of the state where they seek election.
Senators are elected for a six-year term. After that, they can run again. Candidates should be willing to work—many senators
