About this ebook

After having been attacked by the mysterious infiltration unit, Zune awakes damaged and broken and sets out to repair her cybernetics. While fumbling through old memories and rediscovering her past, Zune realizes she was married in her life before becoming a cyborg. Xian tries to remain supportive, even as it becomes clear that Zune's wife might still be alive. Don't miss the second installment of this lesbian romance series!

--

Zune placed a grateful hand over Xian's, thinking that in some strange, twisted way, she did not regret the past if it meant eventually meeting Xian.  "Every choice I ever made led me to you," she said, looking up at Xian. "I regret nothing."

Xian's cheeks flamed a little. "S-Should we continue?" she said, now flustered.

--

"Do you plan to produce offspring?" Micro asked nonchalantly.

Xian was too taken aback to immediately respond. "What? Why?" was all she managed.

"You are healthy and fertile," said Micro, "and Zune is strong and a suitable protector and provider. It is how mammals choose life mates, is it not?"

"We're both women, for fuck's sake," said Xian with a weak laugh. "We can't have kids."

--

Xian was glaring at Syphon, but she looked past the little robot and felt relief wash over her: Zune had flipped to her feet. Xian's eyes went back to Syphon, bright with triumph as she said, "My girlfriend is gonna kick your ass!"

Syphon's narrowed eyes widened in shock and her head whirled around in time to take an orange laser blade to the face.

    Chapter 1

When Zune awoke, static was flashing before her eyes, and her thoughts were fragmented sentences sometimes repeated backwards. Names. Words. Languages. All running frantically together. Her scanner was out of control, occasionally filling her eyes with gibberish in glowing digital print. When she looked up, it was into the face of an infiltration unit, and she started, believing it was the one who had attacked her. But then she realized the unit had no silky black hair – and no laser swords in each hand.

Micro? Zune moaned. Her head was throbbing and she reached up and touched it.

    Micro beeped frantically.

Don’t try to get up! snarled Xian, who sounded both angry and panic-stricken.

Zune obediently laid back again. She was being carried through a dingy white hall with flickering overhead lights – carried on the back of the t-unit. In fact, she was sitting on it backward, her back against the t-unit's neck, as Micro sat facing her, holding her still with both hands. But where were they? Where were they going? Zune could hardly see past the constant digital gibberish rolling past her eyes. And suddenly, she remembered the kick she had taken to the face. The blow had been hard enough to scramble her systems. Darkness came and went, leaving burning spots of light in its wake.

Don’t pass out again! Xian begged. She was somewhere ahead, leading the t-unit on.

They came to an open door that was barred by debris and broken furniture. Xian started shoving it desperately out of the way. From what Zune could see of her past the static, she was sweaty and bloodstained and her green eyes were terrified.

In here! Xian shouted when the wreckage had
