The Poetry & Writings of Archbishop Ronald J. Lay
()
About this ebook
As you read this quaint little book, you will find the charming simplicity of Dr. Lay's poetry. Heartwarming thoughts touch us deep within our beings—memories of loves we have had in our lives. Our family and friends, who are so dear to us, and, of course, our love of God. Lovers of poetry will find R.J. Lay's writings about nature, family, romance, and God to be of the first order. When you began to read his prose materials, they're stories that have been remembered over the years. These stories are written with such exquisiteness as if writing a sympathy. They move you as music moves you. The writings pull you into them as if you had written them. You feel the grass under your feet with dew, the smell of freshly cut hay, the chirping of birds, as well as the water moving over the rocks. His writings carry you back in time to special places and special people. It was a time of comfort, joy, and happiness when you felt peace and love all around you and knew there was a loving God. R.J. Lay's "Words of Wisdom" section has words of profound thought. They are words that will open your eyes to the reality of life and help you understand what life is all about. He writes the words descriptively with a pen on paper the same way he creates on canvas with a brush and paint. Dr. Lay is a fine writer and a wonderful addition to the world of American poets. He is also quickly becoming known as one of America's most sensitive poets, being identified by many as "the weeping poet." You may experience tears of joy and sadness, while reading his writings, as many tears were shed by Dr. Lay as he wrote this book.

AUTHORS NOTES
––––––––
My name is Dr. Ronald J. Lay, C. Ph. D., D.D. and I am a Archbishop Metropolitan Primate of the Old Catholic Church. I must admit when the idea first crossed my mind to write this book, I felt like, "who me?' As time went on, I found God had blessed my life in so many ways, including my ability to write. I decided to share my blessing in life with others.
I was born in Franklin, Indiana in 1947 to Stephen and Lucille Gunter Lay. My two sisters are Geraldine (who passed away in 2009) and Diane. We all are all baptized born again Christians and this dear family unit is the basis and background for many of my writings. My father and mother gave me a blessed childhood and background for which I 'm still grateful today. Diane and I are all that remains of our family unit today and I love her dearly.
In 1972 I began painting and receiving some instructions from Marie Goth, Indiana's oldest and finest woman painter. During the following years I won awards but did not enter many competitions. The last competition I entered was the Emerald City Classic International. I won the Special Medal from the Founders for Excellence. This prize-winning painting was a beautiful sea scape painting entitled Evening Glow
. It was an oil painting done on canvas. In 1986 I was diagnosed with Meniere’s disease. Which is an imbalance disorder and haven't been painting much since that time. The disease progressed over the past 24 years. I finally, as a last resort, had the nerved severed from my brain. As a result, I have lost all balance and hearing on my right side. I couldn't figure why all this was happening to me but one day I began listening to God more closely and realized he was breaking me down to call me
