About this ebook

A Soldier For Christ is about the struggles of a Christian Man, born in the South, raised in Baton Rouge, La. in the early 60's. He grew up around gamblers, hustlers, drug dealers but had a goal of becoming a Lawyer. Addicted to marijuana His Mother tricked him into seeing a Substance Abuse Counsler. A Evangelist/Pastor came Prayed,Layed Hands and God brought supernatural deliverance. At the age of 21an arranged marriage was held but it did not matter the love He had for His wife was matched with the love each had for Christ. Both went too Bible College and got together with other believers until problems of envy and jealousy grew through four ministries. During the fourth ministry a son and a daughter were born. After the Botched C-Section the Soldier For Christ faith was tested over and over again. The vow that this Christian man made while preaching His ordination at the First formed fellowship was to be honored after 12 years. Why would God do such a thing at this time? What was He asking The Soldier For Christ to sacrifice? Was He willing to do it? Betrayed by childhood friends who had hidden envy, hidden jealousy. Betrayed by Men in ministry; Attorney's; yet all things work for the good of them that love the Lord and are the called according to His purpose. As a believer in Christ, you will be lied on, misused, abused, and betrayed by friends, family, and loved ones. When you mature, you will love, and forgive. This is a heart of A Soldier For Christ.

A Soldier For Christ - Imbonisi Nekoski

    Chapter 1

    The Parkland Hospital

It was the beginning Fall Semester of 1979. I was a student at Southern University, Scotlandville campus in East Baton Rouge Parish. I had just graduated from Baton Rouge High Magnet in 1979. A couple of years before graduation I had listened to Billy Graham preach on television. I believed and received the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

I confessed the prayer of repentance and receive Jesus Christ into my heart by faith as Saviour. I felt new and refreshed in my life. I was born again yet I did not know how to grow in the knowledge of Jesus Christ. No one I knew could teach me as a new believer how to grow in the wisdom, knowledge, and understanding of who Jesus was.

No one in the Baptist Church could explain what had happened to me, and how do I now live. Even though I was Born Again, I found out that I still had a major spiritual problem. Deliverance from Alcohol & Marijuana. I was in Church still smoking and selling the Acapulco gold and Red-Haired Sess. I was singing and The President of the Youth Choir at Little Rising Sun Baptist Church in South Baton Rouge. Having no Spiritual guidance as a New Convert, I was open to demon spirits not educated or equipped for spiritual war.

That same unclean spirit that left out of me when I was born again came back and found that my house was empty, swept, and garnished. That means that I did not know how crucial or how important it was for me to hear, believe and obey the Rhema Word of GOD. No one told me that I had to study the Word of GOD for myself building my Faith in Jesus Christ. I did not know how to pray to GOD. All I knew was those rehearsed copy prayers I heard every Sunday from the Deacons.

I found out later that Prayer was simply talking to my Heavenly Father, thanking Him for sending Jesus and reminding Him of His Word. I did not know that I was in a spiritual war and needed to live in the Fruit of the Spirit, put on my spiritual Armor of GOD, and fight the good fight of Faith.

I was ignorant of my spiritual weapons or even how to use my 22 spiritual weapons having victory as I fight the good fight of Faith in Jesus Christ. I was defeated spiritually and didn’t even know it. I did not receive the last commandment of Jesus, after His Ressurrection, which was the promise of the Father. This is the Baptism of the Holy Ghost. I had been Baptized in water at the age of six. The Fellowship at Little Rising Sun Baptist Church was good and emotional but not an Anointed Fellowship with the Gifts of the Spirit in operation. It was a traditional Baptist Church in every respect.

I realized that either the Pastor was not really spiritual minded or just waiting on God when one Sunday after a Youth Service He looked me straight in the eyes and told me, Keep up the good work Son. I looked at Pastor Forrest and said unto myself, Good work, I had just finished smoking weed before the Church service and was High as a kite. He was a good man but not Anointed with the Holy Ghost and walking in the Power of Christ. He had not learned Christ. I came to find out that no one can teach or give you something that they do not possess themselves. Eventually, my backsliding pattern led me into deep un-repented sin.

The same unclean spirit that left my house when I was born again did return with 7 other spirits, more wicked than the first and they did enter into Me. I was a hot mess but I really didn’t care. I stopped going to church, I did not pray, and stopped reading the Holy Bible. I could not grow in the knowledge of Jesus Christ because the Holy Spirit did not reveal the scriptures to me. Read Luke 11: 24-26 KJV.

After all, I was still a freshmen student at Southern University in the fall of 79’and Mid Term grades were sent out to Parents in 1980. One Sunday, while visiting my Parents home at 4288 Washington Ave, my life was about to take a change in another direction. My mother, asked me to come to her bedroom for a talk in private. A private talk, I knew that it must be something real serious because my mother in all of my 18 years, has never asked me to come to her bedroom for a private talk.

We entered the bedroom and Mama asked me politely to close the door. As I was closing the door I said out loud Wow mama this must be really serious. She asked me, How are you doing in school? While facing the door, I said, I’m doing fine in school, like I’m there like every, like everyday. I shut the door, and as I turned around to look at my mother and She slapped Me with great authority in my face knocking Me off balance to the right but not down on Her bedroom floor. She almost broke my Ray Band bamboo glasses. She completely knocked my glasses off my face. While picking up my glasses I said, Mama what’s up with this why did you slap me like that. She immediately responded very loudly and said, Don’t you ever lie to me boy, as long as you live don’t you ever lie to me.

I have your mid-term report card. It was mailed to me and you have nothing but I’s in every subject. I know what an A; B; C; D and F mean, but what does I’s mean on your report card. I was still in shock recovering for a minute and thought for a few seconds. I said within Myself, You fool, you forgot that Southern University mails your mid-term grades to your Parents Home address, you failed to intercept the mail on Friday. I said to myself, What the fuck was not thinking."

I said, Mama the I’s on my report card mean incomplete because I was not in class most of the semester to receive a grade. She said, Not in Class. I thought you were going to school Monday through Friday. Like I said before, I wasn’t lying when I said I was at school like everyday, I just was not in all my classes like everyday.

She asked, What were you doing at school then? I said, I was bowling in the Union, getting my hair cut, and taking care of my business in and out of town and State. I went on to say, Look Mom, my business increased when I went to College. I was taken care of business and making a lot of money on a whole different level. Besides that, You did not complaint when I was putting all that money on your dresser in an envelope. She looked at me in shock and said, Oh so that was you. Look Son, we don’t need no dope money in this house. I have raised you better than this. You are going to College getting an education for a better future not preparing yourself to get killed or go to Jail.

She went out of the room and told me not to move an inch. After about 10 minutes or so my beeper kept going off and I knew I had to make some moves and make sales. Mama came back into the room and said, OK, this is what we are going to do. Come by my house tomorrow morning at 11am, we need to go and see someone I know. My beeper was going off like crazy and I looked at the numbers and said, Mama I can’t come to your house tomorrow I have to make some runs out of Town.

Mrs. Jarrett said in a polite but very serious tone of voice, Boy, If you don’t come by my house at 11am tomorrow, you don’t ever have to come to my house again in your life. Wow I said, It’s like that, man. Ah Ha. Mama, you’re really serious about me being here tomorrow morning, ok just calm down. Ok, Ok, I’ll be by at 11 but, we really need to make it quick, like I said, I have runs to make out of town. I left the house and made a few local runs.

I arrived at 10:50am sharp the next day at 4288 Washington Ave. My mother looked out the window curtain and minutes later she came storming out of the house and told me to leave my Ford F-150 Truck in the yard. I said, Look Mama, like I told you yesterday, I have a lot of business to take care of and I need to get back as soon as possible. She said,
