Part 1

Chapter 1

Once upon a time there lived two young lovers if you could call them that, Annabel Miller and Damien Peters. The questioning of calling them lovers was that they are not romantically together or at least through Damien’s perspective but to Annabel, well she had a different outlook. It isn’t just because Damien doesn’t love her he does more then he likes to admit it, but it’s who Annabel is and who her family is. Annabel comes from a wealthy and prestigious family, while Damien is a servant t to Annabel as was his father to the family. Damien’s family has been under employment for Anna’s for many generations. But money and power neither one of them care about that, only for each other and each other’s well-being. When Annabel grew ill Damien was the only one she wanted to look after her, since Damien wasn’t permitted to have an education Annabel taught him how to read and write during his meal breaks. Over the years they grew and so did Annabel’s love for Damien.

At eighteen, little Annabel grew into a beautiful blossoming young woman with an angelic face. Her short golden curls now long and light golden brown hangs gracefully down her slender back and her emerald green eyes are every so breathtaking.

Damien grew into a strapping young man at seventeen. He was tall, lean with a muscular built, his high sculpted cheeks bones now replace this chubby childhood cheeks. His blue eyes ringed with jet black lashes and his dark hair like a mane hung down his neck.

The two keep their love secret from one another, knowing what would happen and scared of the consequences that would be faced. Every law had its own cruel punishment. One rule that Annabel hated in particular was that not allowing hiring families and the employee’s to be romantically entangled due to issue’s if the woman of relationship was to be pregnant the baby would be killed after delivery. This law was made so that the wealth would stay among the wealthy, and the parents . . . well no one quite knew since that particular law was different amongst the families and since no one really wanted to face the outcome. Growing up and knowing the laws Annabel did not care, she still displayed her affection for him in front of those who would swoon over Damien, Annabel would give the other girls such bone chilling dirty looks that shouted to stay away from Damien. That he was hers, that’s how it is and shall remain.

What was that about, with those girls? Damien would ask whenever he saw expressional change in the girls.

The usual, local harlots practically throwing themselves at you and realize they can’t, or have you not taking notice? Annabel replied
