#1 I was born to very intellectual and also very neurotic parents in London in the 1950s. I got good grades in school, but I felt empty. The world of my childhood was scattered with books, but I didn’t feel at home in the spiritual crowd.

#2 I have spent my life exploring what it takes to live a life of no regret. I have always been involved in social and political activism, but I have found that none of these things on their own was the central key to living a brilliant life.

#3 We have this preoccupation with improving ourselves because of the development of the pre-frontal cortex, which gives us a dynamic tension between our cognitive awareness of two opposing things. On the one hand, we have the capacity to evaluate our present condition. On the other hand, we have the intuitive sense of our potential.

#4 The idea that money can buy you everything was very popular in the 1980s and 1990s. The market was flooded with books about success. The good life required a Ferrari, a yacht, a mansion, and designer jewelry. The quest for perfect health, longevity, and physical beauty is another popular mythology.

There has been a lot of research done on the relationship between well-being and money. It has been proven that money and well-being are related on a bell curve, meaning that as your income increases, so does your well-being. However, above a certain income level, increasing your income causes your well-being to decrease.

    #6

The center point of your life should not be a specific person. The romances cycle of meeting someone and being happy with them for a period of time, only to have them start doing things that don’t fit your idea of what will make you happy, is a common occurrence among people who center their lives around a single person.

    #7

I have interviewed hundreds of people who are highly fulfilled, and I wanted to find out what the common denominator was that all these people shared. I found that the common denominator is that they all felt completely fulfilled.

    #8

The most important element to living a life of deep fulfillment, energy, and meaning is to be highly fulfilled. The research I conducted was conclusive. Not all highly fulfilled people are happily married, and not all are in perfect health.

    #9

The brilliance of your life is the result of an irreversible, deep, and abiding recognition that you are not here on Earth to get something for yourself. You are here to make a contribution that only you can provide.

    #10

There are two types of thought: original and non-original. The source of each type of thought is very different. Original thought is life-changing and brilliant, while non-original thought is
