Geoffrey Oelsner
Born in 1949, Geoff Oelsner grew up in Kansas City, Missouri where he began writing stories, songs and poetry at age 14. While pursuing an English major at Oberlin College in Ohio, he spent a year as an exchange student in Scotland and discovered the Findhorn Community where he had life changing experiences of communion with nature while working in the garden. After receiving an MSW degree in Social Work from the University of Georgia, Geoff and his wife Leslie Berman Oelsner moved to Fayetteville, Arkansas in 1979. Geoff practiced psychotherapy, music therapy, clinical hypnotherapy and massage therapy there for over 30 years before his retirement. He has been an environmental activist, researcher and author since 1980. He has been a Board Member of the Institute for Poetic Medicine (IPM) for the past 10 years, a member of the faculty, and facilitator of monthly IPM Poetry of Nature writing groups.
