I was born in 1939, in Indiana. My father was a United Methodist Minister and I lived in Hudson, Monroe, Leesburg, Union City, and Knightstown, Indiana. I taught Red Cross swimming, diving, lifesaving, and was a life guard at Union City, Knightstown, and Greenfield pools during high school and college. I attended North Manchester College, Ball State University, and my Junior year was drafted by the U.S. Army. I trained Army Sentry Dogs and as a Security Sgt., I was responsible for the continuous training at the Indiana and Ohio missile bases. I retired after working 33 years in the CSX Transportation Railroad Police Dept.. I was a Lt., Captain, Division Chief, and President of the Pennsylvania, Indiana, and Ohio, Railroad Police Associations. I was a member of the Ohio Chiefs Of Police, the Lucas, Seneca, Shelby, and Wood, County Sheriff's Associations. I wrote a biography for my family and a novel which has yet to be published. I am married to Sandra, my wife of 47 years and have been blessed with 3 children and 5 grandchildren. My wife and I live in Ohio. --This text refers to an alternate

She held my hand and prayed with me and my family. Now, please don't get the idea I was on my deathbed, although there was that possibility. I have to tell you after the prayer I was on my way upstairs, and I felt so much calmer, with a warm feeling from the tip of my toes to the top of my head. I was lying on a stretcher as the hospital staff rolled me into a room that reminded me of a warehouse but had partitions and curtains. I sat upas required. I felt a pinch on my back with someone telling me, You are going to feel pain as we push theneedleinyourspine,butitwillhelpcontrolyour surgerypain.Doesithurt?
