This time, we will analyses a typical case of this problem by showing you how it is written: script or notes? The word script with diacritic tilde in the o, is not recognized by the Dictionary of the Royal Spanish Academy (RAE) so it does not exist in the Spanish language. Therefore, writing the following sentences is incorrect:

The script of a film.

The correct form or writing is script, without diacritic tilde. This is because hyphen is a monosyllable word since when an open vowel (/a/, /e/, /o/) is followed or preceded by an atonic closed vowel (/i/, /u/), among other cases, a diphthong (group of 2 different and contiguous vowels falling within the same syllable) occurs. If hyphen were a word with 2 syllables (scri-pt) then there should be accentuated in the ‘o‘ because it is a sharp word. For many years, the word script had been accentuated, but since 2010 the Rae corrected this spelling anomaly, leaving it as a monosyllable word and, therefore, without a diacritical tilde in the ‘o’.

More script meaning.

There are several meanings of the script concept. It may be the writing that points to certain ideas that serve as a guide for a certain purpose. The script, in this case, stands out for being concise and for presenting the information according to a certain order that facilitates its understanding.

For example: If you don't know how to use the software, you can look for the script that the system's manager prepared, Here's the script: use it when you don't know what to do, I don't understand the script that the manager left me before going on vacation.

The script can also be symbolic, as an indication given by someone to perform a task: Do not stray from the script: you have to call Dr. Jouso, explain why we canceled the meeting and make sure that he does not desist from signing the contract, He is a player who respects the script of his coach, that is why he enjoys many minutes of play, If you leave the script again, you will have no more place on this team.

For spelling, the script is a sign that is written at the end of a line that ends with part of a word that does not fit in it or that is used to join the two parts of a compound word.
