5 Steps to Prepare Your Escape Room
Here are some tips on how to create your own escape room at home:
1. Choose a theme.
Some popular escape room themes include murder mysteries, sci-fi adventures, and treasure hunts. Choose a theme that matches your interests and that you think will be fun for your guests. There are a number of free escape room sets online you can download, which cuts down the preparation work.
2. Design the puzzles.
Start by coming up with the different puzzles that your guests will need to solve in order to escape the room. These can be anything from riddles and word games to physical puzzles or logic challenges. Some are available for free online which cuts down your preparation work.
You may also want to add additional props or clues throughout the room, such as hidden notes or coded messages on objects.
3. Look for props
Ask friends and family members may have items that they're willing to lend or donate for your use in the escape room. You can make props yourself or buy them online.
4. Set the scene.
Once you have all of your puzzles ready, it's time to set up the space where your escape room party will take place. Decorate your space with clues or hints related to your theme, and include any props or other objects that you want to use in the game.
