There is eerie silence in the Tongass forest. The sun is hanging on the horizon, and the darkness is about to engulf this vast area into its mysterious reign. Clad in green top and jeans, I’m walking cautiously. I know it’s not a sensible idea to be here all alone at this time, but I have no choice. I’m too far away from my car. Even if I start walking back, I won’t be able to make it till morning.
