About this ebook

On December 25, as if it were a Christmas present, Netflix released The Bridgertons in its catalog: a romantic drama with touches of Jane Austen in a reinvented Regency England, not even because the nobility of the time was not biracial.

The series, created by Shondaland, producer of Shonda Rhimes (Grey's Anatomy, Scandal), meets many requirements to hook you: romance, intrigue, scandals, and a good dose of sex that has put its protagonists in the spotlight.

However, the books are not far behind, being Julia Quinn, the mastermind behind Bridgerton and author of the best sellers, credited with many accolades for her literary creations. The list of books created by Quinn is not at all short, and nothing more than the Bridgerton family has created a vast and complex universe, but without losing the charm of escapism and romanticism.

Both Rhimes and Quinn have big, long plans for the future regarding the family that we have not quickly grown attached to. But, without a doubt, we still have "Bridgerton" for a long time, making this topic relevant not only today but in the long term.

When you are done reading this book, you will have gained a lifetime of experience in just a few short hours. The stories are interesting to follow, and the challenging concepts have been made easy to understand. So get ready to broaden your horizons and adjust your expectations because you are in for one hell of a ride!

    Introduction

WHEN NETFLIX STRUCK a millionaire deal to add Grey's Anatomy creator Shonda Rhimes to their ranks, they hoped their products would be well received. Still, they probably didn't think their first bet would become the phenomenon that today is.

BRIDGERTON PREMIERED at Christmas, and today's tops the list of the most-watched shows on the streaming platform in various countries. In fact, this path made this novel one of its most-watched original shows in its history. Bridgerton has been a true phenomenon worldwide. Not just the record-breaking Shonda Rhimes Netflix series, but the Julia Quinn saga of books, whose sales have increased for everyone interested in knowing the story of our favorite family from the time of the English Regency.

OF INTERNATIONAL FAME, the drama series took us to London in 1813. Hand in hand with the Bridgerton family, especially Daphne (Phoebe Dynevor), we see the twists and turns of a wealthy family in early 19th century England. Focusing on the young woman, the wedding season is shown, in which wealthy young women compete to find a husband. In the midst of this situation, we will meet Lady Whistledown. She, with her diary about scandals and gossip, turns London high society upside down. During this uproar, the new Duke of Hastings (Regé-Jean Page), the most coveted bachelor of the upper class, appears.

    About the Bridgerton Series

DAPHNE BRIDGERTON IS about to enter the London marriage market, but she wants to follow in her parents' footsteps and marry for love. However, as soon as her older brother starts taking care of her suitors, a society magazine written by the mysterious Lady Whistledown begins to gossip against Daphne's reputation.

At that moment, the rebellious Duke of Hastings will make his appearance, the golden bachelor and the great party of the season, which all debutante mothers want for their daughters. He and Daphne are reluctant to acknowledge that there is more than just a good friendship between them. However, their chemistry is undeniable, and they love to converse with wit, while all the high society speculates with them.

Throughout the series, London society cares a lot about what Lady Whistledown says in her leaflets, a gossip who knows everything that happens in the aristocracy and who publishes it without any remorse - and that is the narrative thread of the work–. In fact, his identity is not known until the final moments.

Bridgerton is, without a doubt, one of those series that is seen with a smile from ear to ear during its eight episodes of just over fifty minutes (the last one is almost 70 minutes). And, despite everything, it is not recommended to do a marathon. Instead, it is a fiction
