Day 1

Do not let your adorning be external—the braiding of hair and the putting on of gold jewelry, or the clothing you wear— but let your adorning be the hidden person of the heart with the imperishable beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which in God's sight is very precious.

1 Peter 3:3-4

There are so many sources in this world that tell us what beautiful looks like. We drive by billboards, see posts on social media, see covers of magazines as we stand in the checkout line at the stores. These sources tell us what size and shape our bodies should be. They tell us what the perfect hair looks like. They tell us how we should dress. Most of these standards for beauty are so far out of reach for women, yet we nip and tuck, brush, and color, go to the gym and starve ourselves to try to achieve this picture of perfection. What we don't think about is that these pictures on the billboards, magazines, television screens and even social media have been airbrushed and doctored to make these women look this way. This is the way the world tells us we should look.

God's idea of beauty is different from the world's idea of beauty. God's idea of beauty is about what is on the inside where no one can see. Who are you when you are alone? Who are you when someone makes you angry? God wants us to spend our time tending to the eternal things of the heart rather than the temporary things. One day, no matter how much you try, everything will get wrinkled and fall out of place. The outside is decaying, and nothing can stop that, but the inside will last forever.

Day 2

Older women likewise are to be reverent in behavior, not slanderers or slaves to much wine. They are to teach what is good, and so train the young women to love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled, pure, working at home, kind, and submissive to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be reviled.

Titus 2:3-5

We teach by example in our lives. Older women teach the younger women to behave in a manner fitting for a Godly woman. When the Bible is speaking to older women here, it doesn't necessarily mean women who are old aged. If you are 34 years old and you have a woman in your life that is younger than you, then God is speaking to you in this passage. You can help that younger woman as she enters adulthood, gets married, has children, goes through sorrows. Whatever that may look like in your life. Show them how the Word of God wants a woman to carry herself and live a life that honors
