First, I dedicate this book back to God. Without Him none of this would be possible. Thank you Lord for walking and talking with me daily, molding me into the woman I am today. I love you and am forever grateful.

My father, Jacob Robert Carroll, and grandmother, Sarah Denson, I miss you both so much. I think about you both often wishing you were here to celebrate this moment with me, yet I know you are smiling from up above. More than anything I know you are proud and love me more than words can describe. I really did it. I kept striving to be the best just for you. I love you. Continue to rest and watch over me until we meet again.

To my family & friends who pushed and encouraged me to be better, I thank you for always having my back and allowing me to just be me. Thank you for all the love you have shown throughout the years. Nothing goes unnoticed.

    Introduction

Picture that abandoned home that’s far off the road into the woods alone. The outer appearance is dreadful! It has shattered windows, peeling paint, and rotting wood. This home has been rejected by the owner. From the way it’s falling apart, there is no way this home can be repaired. Let’s not walk too far inside. It seems at any moment the caving roof will fall, the temperature inside is very chilly, and there is dusty furniture and a dark hallway. This house that was once considered a home is breaking down. Every area in the home tells a story with good and bad memories. With so much style and uniqueness about it, but also rough around the edges. I’m sure if the walls could talk, you wouldn’t believe what you heard. Yet with all it’s imperfections and evidence of being abandoned, the sun beamed so bright on it, just one glance took your breath away. This home was far from ordinary. It was something special about it, yet you JUST can’t seem to put your finger on. How could something so beat down, turn out to be so powerful carrying so much beauty inside? How could someone give this up? Hiding from the rest of the world, sitting off alone, was it anyone’s concern? Did anyone care to stop and check on it? This home is unusually unique and strong, unknowing to anyone how it stood strong despite the extensive damage, rejection, and abandonment. It’s so worn out. Why is this home still standing tall and beautiful? We’ll soon find out. This home is ME!

I struggled throughout life with abandonment and rejection issues. I was so lost and defeated. How could this happen to me? So many times I just wanted to give up. I lacked confidence, trust, and I was unsure how to love or to be loved. Growing up I constantly had to prove myself. One mistake and I would get put down. I’m very tough. I took everything they threw at me. No way was I allowing
