Not who everyone thinks she is. The product of someone’s imagination. The end result of a lifetime wishing to get out. Do not buy the lie. If you live in fear, you give up freedom. Taking the risk and making the leap. Too much of anything is a bad thing. Innuendo floating on the mist that rises above the water. Walk away and leave it all behind. Telling the story that haunts a fantasy. Catching a dream. She does not exist. -Ophelia Kee

A Note from Ophelia KeeA Note from Ophelia Kee
Note to the Reader:
A saga is defined as a long story of heroic achievement, especially a medieval prose narrative often found in Old Norse or Old Icelandic. It’s a form of the novel in which the members of a social group chronicle a long story detailing a dramatic history.
Compartmentalized in several miniseries for easier reading, the Draoithe Saga tells the story of the founding of an immortal kingdom in the Leaindeail to combat those responsible for unbalancing the magic of the dream. It’s told through the eyes of those connected with its creation and the readers see the story through tales of couples who find hope through their connection to Draoithe.
The central time frame is the year 2016, although pertinent information from the past reveals itself as the characters understand it. The central place is an eerily familiar yet magical realist, Tyler, Texas. As the tale draws out, other kingdoms set in other locations interact with the Druid pack to bring about the end of Peter Elliot and restore the balance of magic, so those tales, too, became a part of the Draoithe Saga as well. Cameo appearances of characters from other tales are common. Overlapping scenes from the events often relates alternate perspectives as the story unfolds.

Winter McLyon
The dragon Flash once lived as a man, a knight in a medieval world which still believed in magic.
Resurrected upon his death by a greedy shaman, Winter McLyon, who held the magic of the dream in his mind, became a weapon for kings and a spy for the realm.
When the magic fell out of balance and the political order of the medieval time faded into modernity, an immortal dragon lived on, broken and alone, searching for any way to feel alive.
Then a mouse seeking help in the dream’s darkness found him and an old dragon knight had a new mission.

Welcome to the dream...
Prologue
The Draoithe Saga muse is insane. She saw a picture of an Aston Martin Valkyrie and the story of the Ruler of the Mind began.
Aston Martin ValkyrieAston Martin Valkyrie
Once billed as the world's fastest street legal automobile, as with all luxury cars, it came with a price tag to match. For an immortal dragon with plenty of hoarded treasure to spend, this vehicle seemed like the closest Winter would ever come to claiming his Valkyrie. Until Misty stepped into his mind and called him to her from California.
When a Ruler of the Mind demands a man's presence, it's best to be in a hurry.

Misty
The trip out of Tempe was long and arduous. She’d been numb except for the ache in her broken arm. She ate and drank, talked to Laney and Miles when she had to do so, and watched the landscape change in a daze as they passed through New Mexico and Texas.
Had it been so wrong to want to fit in somewhere? She wanted to belong. A few friends were all she’d asked, to have a place to fit in, people who understood her. The price she paid was too high. Misty blocked it out.
Arriving at Draoithe was like going from the worst situation she’d ever found herself in, to a high-class luxury hotel. The log cabin-style resort with its library and garage buildings crafted the same way was over the top gorgeous. A woman she later knew to be a sorceress and a Valkyrie Jewel used white magic to heal her arm and erase the poisonous drugs from her system. It was as if it had never happened.
Only no one could erase her memories and the horror she’d lived through. Still, Draoithe was beautiful and calm. That helped.
The healing began. Life at Draoithe took on a routine, as life does. A little at a time, Misty claimed her life back. Her youth and mental fortitude struggled to overcome the pain and fear. A few cups of hot tea, plenty of good books, meditation, and a bit of communing with nature saw her feel like herself, albeit a broken version. Being herself rather than some stranger had to be a step in the right direction.
Draoithe allowed her to see a world she’d never even dreamed of. People held magic and power, but it was clean rather than the evil someone had recently subjected her to. The denizens of Draoithe didn’t see her as strange or some misfit to be avoided. Misty fit somewhere for the first time.
Her friend Miles had stumbled on a haven for the gifted and magically inclined of the world when he sought help from Fox. The art dealer had once learned of his secret telekinetic painting style and offered him help. Being who he was, he’d kept the card she gave him with no intention of using it.
Miles had called in a favor from the mysterious benefactor left on a business card after Misty and Brenda’s abduction, and he thought he’d lost Laney too. He’d found a place for misfits and one-of-a-kind people, a realm of magic and immortality. No one thought her out of place.
Misty’s lifelong love of books led her to a library in the beginning stages of being set up and cataloged. She learned about immortals and magic as she sifted through boxes of manuscripts, scrolls, and journals. Working with the books and learning about magic made her life make more sense.
The curse she lived with, as she learned about magic, seemed not so terrible. She leapt from her own head. It afflicted some with uncontrollable lightning, shadows, fire, etc...
Life grew easier. She occupied her first days in her sanctuary, looking over and helping to catalog the items in the library.
Trying to understand how magic
