Jack

I’ve attended this medical office convention for almost a decade, although I missed a few years in the middle after my wife died, but this is the first time I’m feeling bold and adventurous. I’ve crushed on an attendee for a few years now, but I’ve never approached her, never introduced myself… hell, I haven’t looked up her information. The only thing I know is her name is Diane—at least that’s what’s on her name tag—and unfortunately, per the ring on her finger, she’s married.

Now, don’t write me off yet. I’m not going to make a play for a married woman. I’ve never done anything remotely that sleazy, and I’m not going to start today, but I have thought about her a lot as this year’s convention has drawn near. Yes, I’m attracted to her. She’s gorgeous, but in an unassuming way, which means she’s probably clueless to how stunning she really is.
