Book Preview: #1 When I was 11, I learned that my grandfather had leukemia. I felt a deep sense of guilt because I knew he was going to die, and yet I had demanded to see him. I understood why I had been in such a panic to see him.
#2 I had a dream one week after my grandfather passed away. In the dream, I was an actress living in Australia. I felt beautiful, and suddenly felt a staggering concern for my family back home. I was dying, but I didn’t wake up. I began to drift away from my body and into a dark, peaceful place.
#3 I learned two truths through my gift: our souls endure and return to a place we call the Other Side, and the Other Side is very close.
#4 The distinction between borders and sides is an important one. Borders are what separate things, while sides are what connect them. The other side of the paper is right there, but it’s still separate from you.
