About this ebook

My name is Doug McKeever I was born in Des Moines, Iowa the youngest of six children of which none play golf. I was fortunate to have grown up with the greatest golfers in their prime playing golf on T.V like Jack Nicolas, Sam Snead, Arnold Palmer and Gary Player to name a few which made my love of golf come alive. I received my first set of clubs when I was 19 years old from my brother (the oldest sibling) shortly thereafter I was evicted from my apartment and my clubs were stolen. A few years later I bought another set and off I went to the closest golf course taught myself to play and I've been playing ever since.

Over the 20 years I’ve played golf I’ve played with a bother in-law and a nephew taught another nephew and my wife the game. I’ve played 1000’s of games in three states and currently my wife and I are regulars in a golf club in Sun City, Arizona.

    Preface

Golf is simply golf, you got your clubs and you’ve got a ball, you hit the ball into a series of holes. Play the game for relaxation and a chance to see the great outdoors.

    Sylvia McKeever (2012)

There are two things we hear over and over again when it comes to this game, which is golf is 98 percent mental and don’t overthink or you will mess up. Well, if you can overthink, then how could it be 98 percent mental—that’s a lot of thinking, right? A lot of confusion in this recreation we’ve chosen. There is quite a bit of thinking in this game. The key is when, what, and how to think throughout your game. Within the pages of this book, you will learn how to put yourself in the right mind-set and how to think through every shot from driving to putting. I will teach you in simple terms and practical situations. Golf is a mental game and cannot be played if your mind is in the wrong place.
