About this ebook

Once viewed as a Christian nation, America quickly became a melting pot of denominations. Entertainment eventually took the forefront, celebrities became our mentors, and improvising became a way of life. Whatever the core reason for the saturation, the lack of accurate spiritual guidance was prominent.

Although the nonchalant remain detached, others cannot accept the forced narrative. We all have free will until we don't. There is one who sees and knows all. One who has our best interest at heart and wants us to succeed. Not everyone will heed the call or discover the way, but those who do will walk streets of gold in glorified bodies, never to experience death, sorrow, or pain again. Welcome to the Free Age!

    DEDICATION

    ––––––––

I dedicate this to those who have negatively or positively contributed to the changes in my life. I love you all. Additionally, I want to thank everyone cited in the bibliography sections of all my books. Without those sources to draw from, I am unsure I would be where I am now. Finally, I would like to thank my family and friends for everything they have taught me. May the Lord YHWH bless you all in Yahusha’s name. I pray we all make it to Heaven, and none of us perish.

    CHAPTER 1

    AFFLATUS

A picture containing text, person Description automatically generated

    ––––––––

Before we dig into the meaning of this chapter, I want to clarify why I chose the book's title to be Sprezzatura. According to wordgenius.com, Sprezzatura is a noun with Italian origins from the 15th century. The definition is as follows: Studied carelessness, especially as a characteristic quality or style of art or literature. (General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), n.d.) Furthermore, Word genius states: Nonchalance describes being (or feigning being) in a calm or relaxed state. Similarly, Sprezzatura is studied carelessness — which often describes attempting to seem calm or relaxed when undertaking a particular action. (General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), n.d.)

I initially discovered the word Sprezzatura at the beginning of 2021 when I wrote a song by that same title. Since I have been making Hip Hop music for over 20 years, I was just at a place mentally where the creative process has become effortless. I know Sprezzatura does mean that it is, in fact, the act of seeming effortless even though it may not be. Regardless, everything in this life is always a process to some extent. Consumers in this world are mostly unaware of the tedious work behind the scenes to bring them their products, whether entertainment, food, clothing, or whatever else has become commercialized for fast access.

Although I successfully created a music catalog in the past couple of decades, I was unsuccessful in financially capitalizing on those endeavors. The important thing for me is that I refined and crafted the rapping skill, which is still a potent form of communication. There is more to the business side of things than just having the talent. In this current world structure, the powers that be have a demonic agenda, and the truth is not something they want readily accessible to the masses. My music has always been intelligently crafted to seek and share information. So, that was the main problem when I was approached with recording contracts in the past. I wasn’t willing to change my image, sound, or likeness to accomplish the dream of seeming successful through monetary means.

I know that I will always have a passion for making music, and I don’t feel I will ever quit making music entirely, but I have decided to shift my focus in this half of my life by writing books. Although I am already experiencing opposition from the printing company and publisher, I plan to use alternative methods to get my material out shortly. One thing that I have discovered to be true about myself in my existence here is that I am a fighter on all levels. No matter what obstacles I encounter, what news I am given, I refuse to quit trying or believing that anything is possible through Christ who strengthens me. I don’t give up. Now to the meaning behind the title of this chapter. Afflatus is a noun of Latin origin from the mid 17th century. It means a divine impulse or inspiration. (General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), n.d.) Word Genius says that Afflatus incites an urge for creativity and that some artists describe inspiration as feeling like it was blown into them. Afflatus comes from the Latin word to breathe on. (General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), n.d.)

Interestingly, it reminds me of a testimony I heard about this kid who died and went to Heaven. While he was in Heaven getting to know Jesus, he became aware that he was receiving ideas from God that he would act on when he was in Heaven. Once he did what he was thinking, God would congratulate him for what he did. This kid was perplexed because he knew God gave him the idea. He mentioned that to Jesus, and Jesus agreed that it was him who put that idea in his mind. The kid just laughed in amazement, still seeming partially confused. You see, it’s not that God needs us; he is entirely self-sufficient in every aspect; he is God, all-knowing, and all-powerful. The truth is God wants us. Everyone alive on the Earth currently has a purpose and a destiny. God has given us free will and is always there to help us fulfill our calling. I know there seems to be an extreme disconnection and separation from our Creator. However, there are ways to build that relationship with him. God has given the BibleBible; that is his word. John 1:14 states, And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among vs (& we beheld his glory, the glory as of the onely begotten of the Father) full of grace and trueth. (KJV Online, 2022)

So, reading the BibleBible and getting to know our Creator through his word is one of the most important ways to get closer to God. Another way is fasting and praying. By reading the BibleBible, we learn how God interacted with our ancestors and how they interacted with him. Once we understand his true nature and how he is, we inevitably start building that bridge to him.

The last book I wrote before this was Desensitized: The Vicissitudes of Life as the book ended, I fell off my bike and injured my leg. I told my friend that it felt as if a force flung me from the bike. I am unsure if the throttle got stuck when I accelerated or what happened exactly. This is because it all occurred so quickly. I know I hit my head on the curb, banging up my legs, ankles, and left wrist. The damage to my right knee was the worst, and as I am writing this 28 days later, I am still limping and in pain. I went to the hospital twice, but they have done nothing except refer me to an orthopedic surgeon. My doctor is and always has been Jesus. The point I am attempting to make is that the enemy will attack you relentlessly when he knows your actively spreading the gospel daily. This is because people want to know the meaning of their existence. They want to know why they are here and what their purpose is. I drive for a living. The right leg is what I use to operate the gas pedal and brakes in my vehicle. That force that flung me from the bike was from the Devil. I know this because I clearly remember hearing in my mind that I am going to cause an accident. I remember hearing this from October to December. Of course, I ignored it, but I had a lot of close calls in my car around that time. The night I fell off my Suzuki, I just got off work and remember thinking or hearing you should start the bike to get the fluids running since it’s been sitting for a couple of months. I remember having those thoughts for the past few nights before December 19th.

What was different about this night was a childhood friend of mine, Al Burke, was visiting Columbus, Ohio, the next day and was going to visit me. I told him I had a bike and that he could ride it if he wanted to. He said he would. So, I wanted to make sure everything was good to go before he got there in the morning. I even texted him a video of the dash lights when I started it. I had no intentions of riding the bike that evening; I just wanted to start it, let it run a few minutes, and rev the engine up a little. For some reason, I felt like I needed to take it around the block. As soon as I went down my driveway, I turned the throttle just a little, and it jumped up in speed. I flew off the bike to the left, and my bike started flipping down the road to the right. I overlooked my injuries until I recovered the bike and got it back on my porch.

Honestly, the first incident I had on this bike during the summer was worse regarding road rash. This event was worse regarding internal pain to my ligaments and tendons. Lesson learned. Insurance totaled the bike out; even though I felt that the bike was fine, why give the Devil a foothold. I am and always have been a target by the demonic Kingdom. Playing it safe is the best way to go when you’re actively pursued by the rulers and principalities of the unseen realm. I know most people are not concerned with helping humanity unless it benefits them, because this is the way of the world. 2 Corinthians 4:4 tells us, In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. (KJV Online, 2022)

If you are a first-time reader of my books, just know that I constantly cite scripture. I don’t know if you are a believer or not. I don’t know the personal beliefs, theories, or speculations of those who come across this material. What I do know is Jesus is Lord and Savior and that he is the truth. I know scripture resonates that truth and that God’s word will not come back void. Muslims, Buddhists, Hindus, New Agers, Scientologists, Atheists, Satanists, and more have also learned this truth and given their lives to Christ. I am not a Bible scholar or theologian by any means; I am just someone who’s saved and wants to spread the good news of Salvation to all who will receive it.

    ISAIAH 55:11

"So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it."

    (KJV Online, 2022)

I would like to close out this chapter by letting you know that nothing in this world has gone undocumented by the Lord. He sees and knows all, every single intricate detail. I know for most of us who are aware of our mistakes and shortcomings in life, we feel hopeless that things can never be rectified or made anew. The truth is no sin is unforgivable, except for blasphemy of the Holy Spirit, which would be rejecting Christ and his gift of Salvation. I don’t care what you have done; the Lord can and will forgive you. That weight can be lifted off you, and you can have a second chance at making the right choices; you can begin anew.

    MARK 3:28

Verily I say unto you, All sins shall be forgiven unto the sons of men, and blasphemies wherewith soever they shall blaspheme: ²⁹But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation: (KJV Online, 2022)

Jeffrey Dahmer gave his life to Christ before he died. He received the Salvation of eternal life; he repented and showed remorse for his crimes. I am not saying he is in Heaven because I don’t know that answer. I don’t know if this was an act or a show, but by his final testimony on the stand, he seemed aware that he would spend the rest of his life in prison and understood that judgment, but he also made it clear he had given his life to Christ. Jeffrey Dahmer attended a Christian Church until the age of 5, which proves the point that God never leaves our side, that he is patient and always willing to forgive. I feel that being a Christian is a highly arduous journey. I have had a tough time staying on the straight and narrow path. I am often exhausted and worn out. This is especially true since I do not have any type of support system. People are people, and we should genuinely only lean on God for understanding. The following article details a little more about Jeffrey Dahmer’s final days.

A person looking to the side Description automatically generated with low confidence

"Between 1978 and 1991, Dahmer killed 17 young men and boys. Police arrested him in 1991 and found victims’ decaying bodies in Dahmer’s apartment. Accusations soon surfaced that Dahmer practiced necrophilia and cannibalism.

Do you have any religious background at all? Ratcliff asked. He was surprised to learn that Dahmer attended a church of Christ until age 5.

Dahmer had started Bible study in prison through courses he received by mail after a Dateline NBC interview. In Virginia, a church member, Mary Mott, and a prison minister in Crescent, Okla., Curtis Booth, sent him material. He studied on his own and then inquired about being baptized. A minister in Milwaukee contacted Ratcliff.

Ratcliff realized that Dahmer was serious about his decision. They arranged to use a whirlpool at the prison. Dahmer climbed in and got into the fetal position to fit underneath the water. On May 10, 1994, three weeks after the meeting, Ratcliff baptized one of the world’s most notorious serial killers.

After the baptism, Ratcliff insisted that he meet with Dahmer each week for Bible study to continue to bring God into his life.

Ratcliff knew little about the man he baptized, so he read books about Dahmer’s crimes. The monster he read about, and the person he knew didn’t seem like the same man.

Ratcliff said that Dahmer mentioned his crimes on occasion and showed a sense of sorrow for what he had done. But at no time in their conversations did Dahmer say why he committed the crimes. That was something Ratcliff — and the rest of the nation — could only guess.

A jury rejected Dahmer’s insanity plea in 1992, and based on his conversations with the inmate, Ratcliff agreed with the decision. He knew it was wrong and tried to cover it up, Ratcliff said.

Dahmer said he should be put to death for what he did on one occasion. Ratcliff said he agreed. But Wisconsin has no death penalty, and Ratcliff told him suicide is a selfish act. He should strive to be a good prisoner and live to serve God.

Most people struggle with the idea of Jeffrey Dahmer repenting, Ratcliff said. All they can remember is the heinousness of the crimes.

On his answering machine at the ChurchChurch, Ratcliff received one profanity-laced message that said he was foolish to believe Dahmer was a candidate for baptism. However, to his face, Ratcliff received praise. Can an evil person turn to God? I have to believe that, Ratcliff said. What part of the blood of Christ can’t save him but can save you?

Over the months, Ratcliff saw a gradual change in Dahmer. He went from a man with a death wish to a man who wanted to help other inmates with Bible study. Dahmer’s father, Lionel, noticed a change in his son as well, Ratcliff said.

But a part of Dahmer remained immature, Ratcliff said, and he believed Dahmer had trouble distinguishing good from the bad.

(At age 34) he was still kind of a little boy yet, Ratcliff said.

On July 3, 1994, a prisoner from Cuba taped a razor blade to his toothbrush and attacked Dahmer from behind during worship service. Dahmer survived with three cuts. Prison officials assured Ratcliff that significant steps would be taken to ensure Dahmer was safe.

But as Dahmer and Jesse Anderson, another convicted murderer from Milwaukee, were doing janitorial duties on Nov. 28, 1994, inmate Christopher Scarver used a steel bar from weightlifting gear to bludgeon both men to death, according to the Associated Press. Ratcliff acknowledged that he felt a sense of betrayal.

The Wednesday before his death, Dahmer had given Ratcliff a Thanksgiving Day card thanking him for his friendship. It said he was looking forward to seeing him the following week.

I didn’t get an inkling he was in danger, Ratcliff said. I thought we would be two old men (someday) studying the BibleBible together. I wasn’t going to give up on him.

Ratcliff led a memorial service with Dahmer’s family at the Madison church after the murder. A sister of one of Dahmer’s victims attended the service to support Lionel.

Afterward, Ratcliff said, she came up to Lionel and said she thought she could forgive Jeff now.

    A decade after Dahmer’s
