Close to Land but Nearer the Stars: An anthology of line, verse, and thought
()
About this ebook
The book highlights Glidden's recent works and earlier writings as he began writing and archiving his poems. He has sought to retain a natural, almost conversational tone to avoid an overtly poetic and high brow writing style.
With this book, Glidden hopes that readers can experience joy and wonder as they become more mindful of nature and life's inspiring manifestations.
He tries to capture, as does the artist in capturing the changing details of weather and light, a perspective that is reflective of what he sees, hears, or notices in everyday life, in a moment in time.

In appreciation
My heartfelt gratitude goes to my wife Jennifer for her love, patience, support, and encouragement throughout my writing. I am also grateful for the creative ideas and insights that come unexpectedly and prompt me to put pen to paper, for they cause me to perceive the world, nature, and events in exciting new ways.
