About this ebook
We have become dependent on technology to think for us. We're losing our identity and we're losing our humanity. We have become lost in the information age. While we have the power to learn from this vast network of information, we as humans have resided to use a form of insurmountable wealth of knowledge for mediocre and personal wealth.
We must ask important questions about ourselves and our purpose in life. Only then we can see who we are and where we are going. The poems in this book allow us to do just that.

Philosophical Poetry - Shafiqur Rahman
DARKNESS
I look in the mirror and all I see is absence, of nothingness. Cold awareness of a black void. This has become my journey of disparity and loneliness. Where it will lead, I do not know. But I have become friends with my emptiness, for when I look at its depths, I find no light but darkness, and with darkness no one can see my fear and pain, for this is where I feel I belong for eternity.
HUMANITY
Humanity is a word of fear, love, justice, and injustice. Humanity shows its intelligence, knowledge, and progression. Humanity shows narrow-mindedness and savagery. Humanity builds and destroys. Humanity is strong and frail, wealthy and poor, superior and inferior. Humanity is love and hate, open-mindedness and bigotry. Humanity, after it is all said and done, is lost in a sea of optimism and despair with no means to a better understanding of the meaning of humanity.
MOTHER EARTH
I am Mother Earth. I provide all and that humanity wants. I give life to all who ask for it. I provide you breath. I provide you water. I provide you shelter. I provide you everything to make you rich and powerful. I ask nothing but to share with my inhabitants, yet you fight and destroy what I have provided you. You plunder my resources
