About this ebook

Don't you just love the smell of freshly baked bread? It's one of the things that I love about being a baker. Creating something totally from scratch. Giving it the love and support that it needs to grow into something mouth-watering and amazing smelling. Another thing that looks amazing and absolutely delicious is my new Cake Decorator, Candy.

But there's a problem. I have a strict no employee dating rule in place, and it wouldn't work if the boss himself breaks it. Though, Candy is sweet, humble, and breathes a breath of fresh air into my life. I just might have to do something about that rule. It hangs over our heads at every turn and almost kiss.

This is the third installment in the Shaw Family Series and is a complete standalone.

    CHAPTER 1

    SOREN

"H ello, you’ve reached Soren’s Sweet Treats. How can I help you?"

Hey, big brother. How’s it going at the bakery?

I chuckle. I’d know that voice anywhere. What’s with the big brother stuff, Asher? I’m only older than you by two minutes.

Eh, you say potato, I say patato. He takes a breath. Anyway, I have an order for you. I’ll need fifty of your famous Valentine’s Day cookies. I promised my class and the rest of my school’s faculty a sweet treat, and I’m not being biased when I say that yours are simply the best. Everyone knows that.

I grin. It truly fills me with gratitude that my twin is my biggest supporter. Just like I was when he decided that he wanted to enroll in teacher’s college. Teaching young minds is his passion just as creating something totally from scratch is mine. Giving it the love and support that it needs to grow into something mouth-watering and that smells absolutely delicious. Thanks, Ash, I appreciate the compliment.

    It’s all true.

So, when do you need to pick up your order? I ask hesitantly.

Ah, can you have them ready for first thing tomorrow morning? I know you normally require at least two days’ notice for orders, but I did promise the kids a sweet treat from my big brother’s bakery.

I should’ve known he was going to do this. Don’t get me wrong, he’s an amazing guy, brother, and teacher, but he tends to leave things to the last minute unless he has it written down and highlighted in his planner. Ash, seriously? I’m pretty swamped at the bakery as it is. Plus, I have a new cake decorator starting tomorrow that I have to set up for.

Please, Soren. I’ll owe you one.

I huff out a breath. If it wasn’t for your students, I’d say no.

Thanks, bro. I’ll see you bright and early tomorrow morning.

Yeah, see you then, I say, then hang up the phone as I finish filling in the
