Chapter 1

The sun is warm on my face as I wake. I’m surrounded by the smell of salt water and sand; the sound of waves crashing on the shore.

Good morning, Mrs. Gosling. I turn over to see a beautiful, blond man carrying a tray. His bright blue eyes pierce mine as he sets my breakfast on the bedside table. Running his hand down my face, he smiles the most perfect smile. How did my lovely wife sleep?

I sit up in the canopy bed, white curtains billowing between me and him. I stretch, blushing at his bare chest. I can’t take my eyes off his soft lips as he licks them slightly. He lies down beside me, his hand trailing down my bare arm.

I couldn’t wait to wake up to see you. He brings my hand to his mouth and kisses the tips of each finger. My heart starts to race and I feel faint from the heat radiating between us.

Oh, Ryan. I let out a hushed whisper.

Ryan rolls over, tucking me underneath him. Summer. He breathes before leaning into kiss me. Just as my lips part, inviting him in, he stops short. The high today is a chilly 43 degrees so make sure you bundle up.

I open my eyes to see my boring ceiling fan twirling above me and the voice of the obnoxious morning DJ ringing in my ears. Reaching for the alarm clock, I slam it quiet and attempt to fall back to sleep. That’s no way to end a dream.
