The world would have us throw up our hands in defeat and hit the eject button as soon as the going gets a little turbulent. Life as a traveling spouse certainly comes with its own unique set of hurdles. There are many days of blue skies and smooth flying, but there are also those filled with headwinds and turbulence. An aviation marriage is like a rare, beautiful plane. You don’t scrap the entire aircraft because of a broken rivet. The plane is much too precious. Instead, you fix the rivet.

Life’s storms are sometimes unavoidable. When the winds buffet you and the darkness closes in, grip the yoke with all your might, contact the control tower for directions, and hold on tight for the ride. There is incredible beauty on the other side of the storm. Believe me, I’ve seen it.
