    Leonarda

I remember telling Maxine about my struggles with Ms. Price. I informed her about my thoughts on suicide and depression. When I read her a poem about my frustrations for Ms. Price, she glared at me. You see Ms. Price and Maxine are sisters. Maxine was always the 'good' aunt to me, however on this day I soon learned that wasn't the case. She would never understand how often Ms. Price tried to humiliate me. She would never fucking get it. As I showed Maxine the poem I wrote about Ms. Price, her face fixed into a hard frown. She said, I know who this poem is about, this is about my sister. Be careful how you talk about her. I wasn't angry at her revelation, I was disappointed. My own aunt, who I believed would always be on my side turned against me. At this moment, I was actually horrified rather than angry. When she spoke I realized that no more of my poems will be revealed to her. Never again will she try to make me feel guilty of my feelings towards my abuser. I will always expose my abuser for who they are. So I never spoke of Ms. Price around her again.

Being around someone who doesn't recognize an abuser is terrifying. They will let the abuser have their way with you and won't bat an eyelash. Before my teenage years, a school bully named Leonarda slammed me into a wall. She pulled me into a secluded area, and slapped me. Her rough hands closed around my neck as she pounded my head into said wall. The headache I caught was instant. My heart was beating fast. Till this day I am still surprised my heart didn't give out. I can't remember the words she whispered in my ear, as she punched me in my side. I don't recall what caused her to do this to me, or what caused her to finally let go.

    Corruption

My assistant principal was one of the biggest liars I've ever known. My assistant principal lied about the regents. Furthermore, he was negligent to many students. His name is Mr. Luka. Since he is good at math he decided to tutor students in geometry. His help never helped any of the students that took the test. It only helped those who were good at geometry in the first place. Luka taught calculus, but all the students in his class failed when they took the exam. He claimed that you couldn't take calculus, unless you passed other math regents. Geometry and trigonometry to be exact. Well the students in his calculus class passed both exams, and they still failed. He should've been teaching these students pre-calculus first and not calculus. Students are not going to just dive into the material if they don't have a decent understanding of it first.

I remember him being so disappointed in them when they failed. Apparently he had high hopes for them, but he was a liar and a terrible teacher. His goals were to have his students go to college classes on Saturdays. Although he was very selective in who he chose. It didn't matter if your GPA was a perfect score or decent. If he didn't like you then you couldn't take these college courses. I tried to get into the Tuesday and Thursday classes, but it was too late. The classes were supposed to be for students who were qualified, however I was overqualified. And my assistant principal favored other students over me. The next challenge was the Saturday classes. This was something I got frustrated over. For the Saturday classes, a white packet was given out for qualified students to sign. After you signed, you were contacted weeks later only if you were chosen. I was never contacted even though I gave in my packet.

I spoke with him about not contacting me to go to the Saturday classes. He lied by claiming that I never gave him my packet. I spoke to other students about my struggle, because I had a copy of the packet at home. He was surprised I did, as my mother cursed him out over the phone. The white packet had important information on it. Information that required a social security number, a full name, and an address. The other students I spoke to claimed that he also lost their packet. When they approached him, he said the same things he said
