Broken and Spilled Out: God Rescues Us from the Pit of Destruction—God Takes Our Trials and Gives Others a Soft Place to Fall
()
About this ebook
Jacqueline Broune has endured many trials and tribulations in her lifetime. Although she has been in many dark places, she feels none were places of waste. Because of His grace and mercy, God led her from the mire, set her feet on a rock, and provided her with a new song of victory and praise.
In a memoir shared to inspire believers that God is a powerful partner who takes us out of the darkness and into His marvelous light, Jacqueline offers insight into her spiritual journey as she realized that she needed to be broken so God could use her to remind others of His goodness and the healing that comes from His word. As she shares detailed stories about how God guided her from devastation, even when it was difficult to put one foot in front of the other, she reminds Christians that a personal relationship with God can transport all of us to a place of joy, peace, and ministry to others through His amazing mercy.
Broken and Spilled Out is the true story of a Christian’s journey to move from a place of desperation and deep sorrow to a place of peace and unconditional love, with help from God.

FOREWORD
Hard to believe it’s been 35 years since I heard Jacqueline say to me God will restore your dignity
. That phrase has echoed in my heart all these years. I found in her a woman who chose to believe the best and to see me beyond my circumstances. I was so young and broken then, my children were little, and their father had abandoned us for the pleasures
of this world. I had a strong faith in God and a deep desire to allow Him to guide me through those harrowing times and along came Jacqueline. She was and is a Beautiful Princess Warrior in the Kingdom of God. She would share her stories and her passions through the teaching of the Word of God, and I watched many a woman let down their guard and allow the healing touch of Jesus to penetrate once cold and hardened hearts.
I truly had never met a woman like Jacqueline. She was the leader of the women’s ministry in Alaska, and she just naturally poured out her love on me and the other women who became such close friends. Jacqueline lead us in Bible Study, she sang with us, laughed with us, and brought us with her on retreats where she was the featured speaker. She reminded us that God could turn all these trials into gold – 1 Peter 1: 3-9.
I believe God did restore my dignity while walking with and trusting in Him. I have been a School Nurse with a master’s degree in Nursing for nearly 30 years now. Jacqueline remains one of my dearest friends. Her life has been a Broken and Spilled out Vessel as she chooses to love and serve and see the best in others. All the while knowing that her heart belongs to our Precious Savior. Only one life, t’will soon be past, only what’s done for Christ will last. (C.T. Studd)
Thank you, Jacqueline, for sharing your long-awaited story with us.

INTRODUCTION
One night in 1973, I was in Alaska camping in army barracks with my husband and three children way out in the woods. In the quiet of the night, I heard God gently whisper in my heart for me to author a book. I was twenty-five then, and my children were all under age six; I had no idea why God wanted me to author a book, but He guided me to Matthew 26:6–8 (NASB), where Mary poured an alabaster vial of costly perfume on Jesus’s head as he reclined at the table. The disciples were indignant when they saw that and asked, Why this waste? This perfume might have been sold for a high price, and the money given to the poor
(Matthew 26:8 NASB). Jesus, who knew that, asked them,
Why do you bother the woman? For she has done a good deed to Me. The poor you have with your always, but you do not always have Me. For when she poured this perfume on My body, she did it to prepare me for burial. Truly, I say to you, wherever this gospel is preached in the entire world what this woman has done shall also be spoken in the memory of her. (Matthew 26:10–13 NASB)
This book is about the costly perfume that was spilled out of the broken container and filled the room with its fragrance. I reflect on this
