    DEDICATION

Thanks be to God first for allowing me to still be here to tell this story.

    ~Still Here~

I like to give thanks to my Mom (Carolyn Parris) for always being there for me and taking care of Zaccheaus each time all those years and through all those hospital stays. Along with the food preparations. Thanks, ma, for the late nights and days. When no one was there you were there all the time no matter what! Love you Ma!

Thank you, Grandma (Martha Ford) and Grandpa (Odell Ford), for the visits, the talks, and for helping my mom. Thanks for helping my mom to take me to my appointments and the food cooked to take with my meds. Love you, Grandma and Grandpa!

Thanks, Dad (Albert Adams) and my second Mom (Shirley Adams) for being here with me when you could. Traveling the distance from Florida. Love you Dad and Ma!

Thanks to all the nurses, doctors, specialists, and surgeons, who made all this possible and didn’t give up on me. I love my team!

(Zaccheaus Hills) thanks for saving mommy’s life as an angel in spirit and in flesh and body. Mommy loves you!

Thanks to my Sister (LaAngela Bacchus) even though you didn’t like seeing me sick for being there and holding the baby angel Zaccheaus in Denver, Colorado hospital. Love you, sis!

Thanks to Zaccheaus’s Dad (Anthony Hills) for being there throughout all this!

    INTRODUCTION

You can be here one day and gone the next. You never know when your life will come to an end. Live each day like it is your last. Enjoy every moment. Life is short. Make the most of it. Live your best life now. Get in the company of the people, friends, and loved ones you wish to have in your life. Love and care for the people who mean something to you, whether they are family members, friends, or someone else. You don't have time for stupidity, inanity, and getting caught up in messes. There's no time for that. Time to mature and get a handle on your life.

Live up to who God made you to be. Do not be someone or something you were never meant to be. The Almighty doesn't make mistakes and he never makes a mess. What are you waiting for? Be who God created you to be! Never take anything for granted in this lifetime and be all you can be. Enjoy life 100%!

    DEATH

No one should ever say never. It begins to eventually turn into happenings or happens before you realize it. You never know when NEVER will strike. It can sneak up on you, warn you, give you a sign, or come  unexpectedly. You can never be truly ready or prepared for it. You know one day it will happen and we all must face it no matter what. We just don't know when, where, or how it will happen or occur.

At the back of our minds, we know someday death will approach us and when it does, it will catch us off guard. To some, it will make you go back and check your lifestyle. To others, it will be uncomfortable. Some want to face it and can't wait until it happens, so that they no longer deal with everyday life circumstances that come their way. Others may even induce it to come sooner by committing suicide, which in return will not be beneficial to anyone.

On the other hand, death can be very scary and intimidating. It's not something that you just decide to put on your agenda for the day and say, I'm going to think about it. It's not an everyday topic that is discussed amongst your family and friends. In this day and time, it's not the norm. It's not a common subject in the school systems or the work industry. It isn't even mentioned when we go see our doctors. Except for the paperwork given to you for a living will and power of attorney information.

Now, to the church on the other hand, that's a different story all together. The church is known for having a conversation about death, alongside life itself. Why? Two of the main reasons are:

    1) For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

    John 3:16

    2) Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.

    Proverbs 18:21

Death is like trying to breathe from a straw. It's breathless, lifeless, hopeless, which comes to suck all the life out of you. When death comes upon you, it will either make or break you. You can either give in to it or overcome it. It's not a joke or a game. It's very critical, detrimental, serious, and shouldn't be taken lightly.

"The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I come that they might have life and that

they might have it more abundantly."

    John 10:10

Since nobody likes to think about death, we should live our lives to the fullest, like it's our last moment of living. Tomorrow isn’t promised to anyone. We need to cherish every moment that we are here living, breathing, moving, and have our being.

Boast not thyself of tomorrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth.

    Proverbs 27:1

For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, for we are also his offspring.

    Acts 17:28

People who don't take life seriously sometimes by not realizing that they are taking things for granted, which says you don't care about life, you don't care about death, and it doesn't faze you. If you don't even care to know more about your life, then you’re just existing with no purpose.

Come on now!  There must be somebody out there asking the question, God, why was I created? What did you create me for? I sure hope you don’t think you’re just here taking up space. If that’s the case, then none of us would be doing anything. We’d all be walking around here looking like lost sheep. So, if you haven’t, you should be asking yourself and God, what am I doing here? What should I be doing? Ask yourself do you have a purpose? And if yes, what is it? What are you supposed to be doing?

So, you say, Tonya, out of all the things to write about, why Death? I could’ve chosen anything else to write about, but I didn’t. So, why death" then? Death is an eye-opener for many. It has been a great eye-opening
