    Its show laziness research the company find out the name you should address the letter.  ‘The Dear Sir or Madam’ is a bit outdated even during an interview. Use the proper name to address the person.

    Passive voice language – avoid it

    Such as being ‘Responsible for’ Don’t sell your sell short!  You have accomplishment tell of them big or medium share it. Use descriptive words like I implemented… or sparked leadership role …

    Traditional publishing defined:

    In traditional publishing, you submit your manuscript to a publishing house with a query letter or cover letter you may here that term used as well. A query letter gives an overview of the story and a little about you short polite and to the point. It is a one-page letter to agents to get them interested about your book, essentially to woo the literary agent! Note, if this is your first book, then the bio about yourself will have limited data. Therefore, focus on the story.

    Self-publishing defined:  In the case of self-publishing, the author is responsible for the book’s marketing and distribution, as well as the writing.

    Basically, you wear all the hats - in turning your manuscript into a book for publication. This would include the marketing and promotions. (To be discussed later.)

    EXAMPLE: Let’s say if you wanted to promote on Barnes and Noble or Smashword. You would have to wait until the 90 days have expired.
