    Introduction

I love watching rain drops fall on car windows; seeing one drop hit and slide down the surface capturing several other droplets along the way, it’s very soothing to me. The harder it rains, the faster the droplets move capturing other drops on its downward journey to create tiny surface puddles. Beholding the beauty of the rain on the car is cherished until the rain stops and remnants of salt and dirt on the car’s surface taints the imagery. A thorough carwash is now needed to get rid of all the salt and dirt that the once beautiful rain brought.

Sometimes our lives can look very similar. We experience both the rain and remnants of what rain can bring in our journey. We have felt rain that showers us in abundant blessings that continuously flow. We have also been drenched by rain that brings downpours of trials and hardships leaving remnants of salt and dirt in or on us needing to be cleansed. It seems like when things are good, and the blessings are flowing, we can lose sight of what could come and take for granted being adequately prepared for it. When faced with a trial or hardship and getting drenched by the downpours that life’s journey can bring, we find ourselves left with unwanted dirt on our surface that must be washed away.

Those downpours at times can leave remnants of dirt in our lives that seem impossible to clean especially by ourselves. Be encouraged and know that a deeper and more powerful cleaning is available and accessible for us. Our heavenly Father purposely sent His Son to deeply cleanse us from our sins, His power reaches beyond the surface and works from the inside out to deeply cleanse us.

Come now, let's settle this, says the LORD. Though your sins are like scarlet, I will make them as white as snow. Though they are red like crimson, I will make them as white as wool. Isaiah 1:18 (NLT)

Could you use just one drop of His power to deeply cleanse you and provide a spot-free rinse for your soul?

Dive into twenty-one days of soul quenching devotionals that remind us of our natural needs and the promises in God’s Word to fulfill them.
