About this ebook
You know that it’s important to save money — but if you’re like most of us, you might have a tough time saving as much as you need to be comfortable with an emergency or rainy day. There are several reasons why we struggle with saving money, but the bottom line is that, while it’s hard to overcome the psychological blocks of saving, it’s in our best interest to find a way to do it.
Zack Kahn, the co-founder and head course instructor at CompoundConfidence.com, is here to help. His Scribd Coach audio course The Cost of Money focuses on balance as a budgeting strategy rather than saving as much as humanly possible. In the course, Kahn explains how to set up an immediate and long-term budget and how you can adjust your spending to achieve optimal balance and improve your financial health. He also shares exercises along the way so you can get started putting your budget together immediately.
Budgeting doesn’t have to be a chore — Zack Kahn’s balanced budgeting system makes it accessible to boost your savings more than you thought possible.

Introduction
Hello, everyone! Thanks very much for joining me. This is Zack Kahn, and you’re readying The Balanced Budget Life: How to Manage Expenses Without Sacrificing Your Joy,
a course from Scribd Coach. Let’s get into it.
If you’re anything like most of us, you’ve probably been told for a long time that it’s important to save your money. You probably know the benefits of saving money, and you probably didn’t need to be told that it’s something you should be doing. The importance of saving money, especially for an emergency or rainy day,
is self-evident. So why is it so darn difficult to actually pull off?
There are a few reasons I can think of. The first is that we need to pay off debt. Even if you’re not swimming in debt, it’s still a regular expense you need to address.
