About this ebook

Marguerite 'Mace' Sanavol was a Satans's Sister through and through. The rest of the Sister's had never known the true story about what happened to Mace when she was taken hostage by insurgents while stationed overseas. Mace had not talked about it, and the Sisters only gave her acceptance and support. While helping a friend, Mace finds out the man she thought was dead was very much alive and has a strange connection to Shady and Jas.

Now that Agent Axel Snow finally had the opportunity to take down a man who was responsible for hurting so many people, he was more than willing to do it, but he would need to team up with a motorcycle club to do it. The bonus part was that Mace was finally back within his reach, and this time he was not going to let go.

    Prologue

Mace stared into the canal, then turned as Shady approached her from the side. It had been a long fucking week. Marbles was still in the hospital, clinging to life, and the rest of the clubs were arriving tonight. Shit went sideways, but it wasn’t Shady’s fault – it was hers. She had underestimated who they’d been dealing with.

The Rumeriz Cartel wasn’t who they claimed to be, and because of that, the clubs had made critical errors. However, no one could have guessed that the leader of the Rumeriz Cartel wasn’t who they thought it was. Shady had figured it out quickly, but the problem had been that planned events were already in motion by the time she’d gotten back to the clubhouse.

Everyone involved in rescuing the girls understood Shady’s actions, but the delay had cost them. Because she recognized a man from her past was involved, it made Shay go off the rails. Shady stopped right by her side, also staring out into the canal.

Shady started, My fault, I seriously didn’t think I could be right. There was no way I could’ve known about this, none. I didn’t recognize him until it was too late, too much work done on his face. I won't make that mistake again.

Why the fuck do you think I’m letting you in on this? Mace snapped, then took a deep breath. I get it – seriously, I do. Everyone was caught off guard. I have to finish this shit once and for all.

No, I do, Shady said grimly and turned her head. I’m not looking to control the mission, just to be a part of it. I want to find the rest of the girls as much as you do.

There are fourteen of them missing, Mace said slowly. They’re probably overseas.

Mace felt her nod in response, then Shady said, Haven't been out of the country in a long time. Good thing, I just renewed my passport.

You will take my lead, Mace stated in a hard voice.

In everything, even who kills this bastard. All I ask is to watch, that’s all, Shady replied, and Mace studied her.

Carole and I are talking in a few hours. Meet with us – we will talk about everything.

    Will Snow be there?

Unfortunately, Mace said. There’s no way I can keep him out. You may have known him longer, but Snow and I were the ones who left him alive three years ago. That was a bad choice, but at the time, the only one we could make.

    Chapter One

Mace stood and watched as all the bikers drove down the long road that was the Blood Eagles driveway. Shady was standing right next to her – the two had become close over the last week or so. Mostly because they had been together for that entire time, trying to find the man they both sought.

Marbles was still in the hospital, although now she was awake and alert, causing trouble with the male nurses, whom she kept demanding a bed bath from. Carole and Chains had made sure she had a private room that was under guard at all times.

You know, I haven’t spent this much time down here, ever. I didn’t know it was going to fuck up my hair so badly, Mace said softly, and Shady chuckled. They talked about stupid shit a lot, in order to keep the tension at a minimum. Mace noticed it worked with Shady when she started getting really intense. Maxi, Cajun, and Harmony were also always close by when we heard new information, just in case.

Today marked the beginning of Mace’s O.P. Agent Axel Snow was going to be here soon, and Mace was already trying to brace herself for that. He had been in and out of the compound most days, but only occasionally had he actually spoken to her.

The past was in the past, Mace thought, but she was still more than pissed that she had to work with that man again. When they had worked together before, they had vastly different opinions on how the mission should’ve been handled. Mace still felt the agent had gone in too late. They should’ve struck early; then they could’ve gotten Martinez alive, even though apparently, he still was.

Sergio Martinez, known by so many other names that the CIA and FBI weren’t exactly sure what his given name was. Mace only knew him in Sergio Martinez, and so did Shady. So, that’s what they were going with.

For Mace, the man had been the one who helped the insurgents that held her captive for more than three months. She hated thinking about that time – she had put it behind her. That was what she did. It was how she was made. Things shouldn’t be dwelt upon.

Born Marguerite Sanavol, the child who became an orphan on the same day she was born, had been in the newspaper her first day on earth. Her parents, Sondra and Luis Sanavol died in a spectacular gunfight with authorities while they were trying to rob a bank. Mace had been the only survivor of that gunfight. She was placed in the system and lived there until she turned eighteen and joined the military. She didn’t like to think too much about her childhood, not that it was terrible – it was just nothing. She hadn’t made any close friendships; no one had taken her under their wing and made her their child. Mace had been one of the children who floated through the system without anyone noticing them at all. It worked for her.

When she met Doc and the others, Mace had refused to allow the friendship to actually mean anything to her. Like most people, she assumed the women would forget about her when they got out of the military, or they would die, and she would be left alone again. That wasn’t how it happened, and Mace would be forever grateful to the Sisters for that. Doc had once told Mace that she was one step away from being a psychopath, because Mace held her feelings too close to the vest, so no one was sure she had feelings. Mace had punched her in the gut and said she felt good about that. The friendship bloomed from there, and the Sisters became a family.

They never asked her about her childhood, and she never told them. The most she said was that her life started when she joined the military. That was it, and they accepted it. When she had been captured, it had been during a mission with the Sisters. They were trying to extract a group of Marines who were stuck behind enemy lines. Mace’s helicopter was shot down. The insurgents got to her before the Marines had been able to. She disappeared for three months.

Mace wasn’t sure where they had taken her, she’d only known it was in the mountains, where they stayed in caves. During that time, she’d been tortured for weeks before they finally just left her alone. Mostly because Mace didn’t speak, didn’t yell, didn’t beg, nothing when they tortured her. She refused to give them the satisfaction. The scars on her back were daily reminders to her that she was a survivor.

The entire time in captivity, Mace had never given up. She knew the Sisters would come for her. The bond they shared was so much more than anything she had ever felt, and she was sure they would never let her down, and they hadn’t. But she had also learned a lot by listening. The men hadn’t known she spoke Kurdish, so they had talked freely in front of her. The weapons they were getting were American, she could see that, but she hadn’t known where they were coming from until Martinez had visited the camp for a week. The man was making deals with the insurgents, for not only guns, but for a variety of things. He had also been the first and only one to rape her. The insurgents allowed him to use Mace while he was there. That face she never forgot. When she was released from the military, Martinez was the first order of business to be dealt with. Mace had agreed to work with Snow, only because Carole had been the one to help her find Martinez.

Doc and Carole had gotten to know one another very well while they were stationed overseas. Mace respected Carole because of that. So, of course she had been the first one Mace contacted when she needed help finding that asshole.

They had been set. Snow and the rest of the FBI were supposed to be raiding his little drug compound, but the plans had gone up in smoke when the place had been bombed. Mace still got her satisfaction, because Martinez had been identified among the dead. Now, years later, she found out it wasn’t true. She also found out that Martinez had something to do with Shady, Jas, and the OPS Warriors and Lady Riders. Though she didn’t know the whole story, she did know the highlights, and she was more
