Hadley Marks, Weston Myles, and Tate Kendrick had been together for the last ten years. Hadley had been the last of the three to leave the foster care home they had all lived in, they had always taken care of each other, so as adults, it seemed natural to work together.
Weston was an amazing MMA fighter, he had won championship after championship all to get to where he was today, a shot at the Heavyweight MMA title, life didn’t get much better than that.
Tate was Weston’s trainer, he had always been his right hand man, and also the one who could spot an opponent’s weakness at the drop of a hat. Together, the two made an unbeatable team.
When Hadley decided to become a sport agent in order to be able to run the business, neither of the guys had been surprised. She was a tomboy after all, they never saw her as anything other than a sister. But when her newfound status as an up and coming agent suddenly thrusts her into the limelight, the changes in her knock both men on their asses.
Hadley’s past comes knocking, and the men would do anything and everything to protect her and keep her safe.

Prologue
She ran, her mom told her to run and she did. Hadley just didn’t know when she was supposed to stop. Her legs hurt, but she still didn’t stop, if she did he would get her. She knew he would just like he got her mom. She saw the police station where her mom told her to go if she was in trouble. With a small sob she ran to the door and tried to open it, but it wouldn’t budge, so she began to cry and hit the door.
"Please, please, please," she said and hit the glass door. She saw someone move and she sucked in a breath but kept knocking to make sure they came and let her in. He was coming, Hadley knew he was. He said he needed to make sure his ‘wife’ would never find out. She didn’t know who Wife was, but Hadley was afraid of her too.
A lady in a uniform opened the door and looked down at her. She was crying, and could not stop. "Honey, what is it?
"He hurt my mom," Hadley sobbed and the woman leaned down and picked her up.
"Who did, honey?"
"The bad man," she whispered.
"How old are you?" the woman asked, carrying her into the police station.
"Six," she whispered.
"What is your name?" the woman asked as they reached the desk.
"Hadley Marks," she whispered.
"Do you know your address?" the woman asked and picked up a phone and she sniffed.
"No."
"Okay, honey, sit at my desk and let me see if I can find your house," the woman said and Hadley nodded and wrapped her arms around herself.
Hadley sat up in bed and shook her head, another dream, she really needed to get a handle on this shit. It was all coming back up, which was slightly annoying since she hadn’t thought about that in years. Damn, she hated to start off a day like this, it always seemed to give her a bad attitude hangover. Every once in a while she had that dream. She always thought it was to remind her where she came from. Sometimes it was worse, sometimes it was better, but it was always unsettling. Fuck this, today was the start of her new damn life, she thought and then crawled out of bed.
That was when everything changed for Hadley Marks. She had been taken to another office, where another woman had come and explained her mother wasn’t coming for her. There was nothing they could do, since Hadley had no other family they placed her in a foster home. She had been so confused, she remembered, but that was where she met Weston Myles and Tate Kendrick, and together they made a new family with just the three of them.
Saying life in that foster home sucked was a total understatement. As she grew older, Hadley realized the woman who accepted the children into her home only did it for the money. Sure, some foster homes were filled with kind and caring parents, heck, she had seen it for herself, but Ms. Stock, she wasn’t one of those homes. Ms. Stock wasn’t mean, really, she just didn’t care. The only thing she did care about was money, and having them there meant she didn’t need to get a job.
When she was thirteen, West and Tate turned eighteen and left. She was heartbroken, but Ms. Stock refused to allow them to stay one day past their birthdays. So they had moved out, got jobs where they could, and rented a small apartment as close to her as they could. Neither of them would ever leave Hadley alone, they had promised her. When she was young, she worshiped the older boys, following them around, and always getting underfoot. Not that they cared, they hadn’t, never once did she feel like they didn’t want her around. To this day, she knew that was why she hadn’t turned out like so many other kids in the foster care system. So many tragic stories, and really, not enough people to fix them when they didn’t have money. Hadley knew she was lucky, which was why twice a year, West, Tate, and Hadley did a promotion and donated the proceeds to go to the local clothing bank they established for kids in the system.
They had started it when Hadley had graduated from college, all of them agreeing. It had gotten so big, now they had employees who ran the place for them. The donations came in daily, and twice a year, they would supplement the place to get a whole bunch of new clothes to hand out. The beginning of school, and the end of school, right when the kids needed it most.
Hadley didn’t have girlfriends, she never really got the whole giggly girly stuff that began when girls turned twelve. It was annoying, she was a tomboy and she was proud of it. She could still remember climbing up a tree just because some silly boy ‘double dog dared’ her. Oh to be young again, and having their biggest worry be how to get down from a tree without breaking your neck. It was the small things in life she remembered. But once she entered junior high everything changed.
The girls in her school suddenly wore skirts, and had their hair all done up and pretty. Hadley had no one to teach her that, so the guys had tried to help—yeah, that didn’t go over so well—so instead of worrying about it, Hadley embraced her inner tomboy. Because of that her best friend’s name was Linus ‘Duckie’ Kulde, mostly because his nose and lips made him look a little like one, but Hadley had never seen it. The other kids were the ones who gave him the nickname and since he thought it was funny, he never changed it. Hadley figured it had something to do with his name as well. When she had beat the crap out of one of the boys who constantly picked on Duckie, Hadley found out the truth. Since his home life sucked worse than Hadley’s they’d hit it off. Duckie’s sucked more because of his father, who was an asshole, like big time. If you looked in the dictionary, they were all convinced his picture would be there somewhere. It didn’t matter to her, but West and Tate had taken exception to it. Their dads had been complete pricks as well, so they got it. Then Hadley was either with Tate and West, or with Duckie, no one else.
West got a job in a gym and then Tate had joined him. From there it had seemed like everything fell into place for them. West discovered he had a gift with fighting, which seemed like a really strange skill to have, but he had it. When he was in the ring, he was like poetry in motion, Hadley thought and then smiled to herself. Yeah that may be a little over the top, but hey fuck it, she could think what she wanted to. He learned about MMA fighting and he was sold on it. So was Tate, but he was more into the training and watching opponents for weaknesses West could exploit. They were the prefect team and Hadley had been their biggest fan. She hung around at the gym with Duckie after school every day. Then, things changed. West and Tate suddenly were thrust into the limelight when West started winning bouts, that was when suddenly they both had girls chasing them. Hadley had ignored that part of growing up, it pissed her the fuck off.
Hadley hadn’t been blind, both of them were gorgeous—gruff and rough, but gorgeous. When she was younger she knew they would go out on dates, she had just never seen them with a girl. But now, suddenly they were right in front of her face. She realized she didn’t like it but it didn’t matter what she liked, they were getting older, and she was like an annoying little sister. Thus, she began to hang out with Duckie more, which was good, because then she discovered that she also had a bit of talent playing softball. Duckie played baseball and he coached her at first, well, more like she followed him to practice and she watched and learned, then asked him to show her how to hit. Then she joined the high school team, not really thinking about anything other than something to pass the time. Hadley had been surprised when she found out
