    Present Day, Rosen Springs Village

The small group of travelers stepped into the small village of Rosen Springs. They had traveled for several days with little rest; this was done to keep from falling victim to bandits that were known to populate the area. The village was unassuming and not particularly well-known for anything, save a hub for travelers on a long stretch of flat terrain. As they walked through the clusters of villagers, Lucas’ gaze was trodden. He expected the usual amount of attention he drew simply from being a consecrated. Aeson glanced over his shoulder at Lucas. Are you alright? the high elf asked. He looked around at the men and women who seemed interested in his traveling companion.

Lucas offered a smile, Of course. It is no worse than the attention I get elsewhere. But, you know how small towns are, he said in reply.

Right. You’re probably the first consecrated person they have ever seen, Aeson said in agreement. He turned his gaze forward again. Aeson slid his hands into his pockets while he scanned the area in an attempt
