About this ebook

Anna says, “Jim Elg is maybe worthwhile, however, as I told you, you need to avoid the guy named Billy, who thinks of himself as God’s gift to the ladies.”
Gina says, “Anna told me that Billy stole Jim Elg’s girlfriend, Lynne.”
Cathy says, “Sooner or later there will be trouble between Billy and Jim. For now, Jim mostly avoids The Grotto, Billy and Lynne.”
Anna says, “Billy is bigger, but Jim is maybe stronger and a lot smarter than Billy.”
Gina asks, “Do you think that maybe there will be a fight?”
Cathy says, “Jim will just walk away from a fight with Billy, if he can.”
Gina asks, “Why would Billy want to start a fight with Jim?”
Cathy says, “Billy is now in trouble with his job and with Lynne. The prospect of Lynne leaving Billy may be more than Billy can stand.”
Anna says, “Billy is not doing the preparation work that he needs to do to stay employed. If Billy loses his job, likely he loses Lynne. If Billy tries tom catting around, likely he loses Lynne. If Billy loses Lynne, he may no longer be able to attract another pretty wife. Billy is now caught between a rock and a hard place, as they say.”
Gina asks, “How about Jim’s job?”
Cathy laughs, “Jim is easily the best computer programmer, where we work. Jim also takes classes, mainly via the Internet, at night. Jim is developing and renting out what they call toolbox computer software routines. Finally Jim is doing some sort of investing thing. The investing is apparently working out well. Jim may have lost Lynne to Billy, but Jim will not lose his job and his pay check.”
Anna says, “We better get back out there, before Jim sends in a rescue party.”
The ladies return to the table, where Jim is nursing the last of a glass of wine.
At that point in time, Billy walks up and flashes the old Billy power grin and tells Gina, “Hey pretty girl, what’s your name.”
Gina smirks and sneers, “There’s no need for you to know that, since you are as close to me as you are ever going to get. Go away!”
Billy then flashes his power grin again and says, “I don’t want you to sit with a loser, like Jim Elg.”
I get up and tell Billy, “The lady says go away. You heard what the lady said, you go away.”
Billy sneers, “I aint listening to you loser. I go where I want and stay where I want. I may just take the lady away from you, the way that I took Lynne away from you. You can just go away.”
I pull something from my pocket and place it on my left hand. I say, “True, you took Lynne away from me. However, I didn’t have the keys to success then, I do now.”
Billy looks at the object that I have on my left hand.
The object is a metal strap that fits snugly over my left hand. Out from the area where my knuckles are, project several steel keys, welded to the strap. My ‘brass knuckles’ are actually ‘steel knuckles,’ that will leave a punchee with broken teeth and badly torn flesh. I sneer, “No more pretty boy Billy.”

I'm the co-author, with Sunset Thomas, of Anatomy of An Adult Film.I have 48 novels and over 299 short stories currently published.I spent my early years in the part of Los Angeles known as the South Central. I was known as Whi' Boy, which was sufficient to identify me in that place. I'm a skilled Kung Fu player, using a system that I learned from a Korean I knew only as 'Pak.' It would be easier to tell you the places that Pak wasn't wanted by the police, rather than the places where he was wanted by the police. Pak's Kung Fu system, augmented by some bits and pieces from some Chinese practitioners is quick and effective, or I wouldn't be alive today. My early education was mostly obtained by stealing books from the public library (I always returned them and the Librarian even began to provide me with reading lists.) I did go to high schools, but I never really learned anything there. I eventually graduated from the University of California at Los Angeles, UCLA, with a degree in mathematics.I work as a Systems Analyst and also make a part of my living as a professional gambler (legal in Nevada.) I write science fiction and erotica. My published novels are:Anatomy of An Adult Film (With Sunset Thomas)1. Second Chance: God Killer2. Second Chance: Sky Pirate3. Second Chance: Scroll Seeker4. Chapter 1: Meet Gina

By the time that I get the ‘gotta have it tonight’ software module finished, including the required level 0 testing, it’s a bit past 7PM. I go and turn the module over to Cathy, the Secretary.

Cathy perks up and gives me a smile. She then phones Jerry, the Project Manager. Jim Elg just turned in the ‘gotta have it tonight’ software module finished, including level 0 testing. Now we wage slaves are off to the The Grotto.

Cathy then turns back to me and says, They told me that I’d be here past midnight. Let me get your software diskettes locked away in my safe and then I have a nice surprise for you.

I say. It’s really too late for me to cook up supper, so I have to face Billy and Lynne at The Grotto. I have to hope that you have a really nice surprise for me.

Cathy asks. Jim Elg. how did you finish that module so quick?

I sigh. I can’t dance like Fred Astaire, from the old musicals. I can’t run as fast as the Olympic sprinters. But I’ll throw down against anybody for computer programming.

Cathy says, We can just kind of slide into The Grotto. Maybe avoid Billy and Lynne.

I say, Maybe so, but don’t count on it.

Cathy and I walk out of the building, after the guard signs us out. We then
