Chapter 1
I can’t believe it said Henry looking at Margret. You gambled away our home? How could you be so reckless? It all happened so fast she replied. You know what I was feeling at the time Henry? I felt alive. A rush. A much needed thrill in my life. I felt like I was somebody. What kind of thing is that to say? How much time do you have to pay back the money? I don’t know two days. Two days I can’t do this. If you weren’t so busy Henry you could see that this is all your fault. My fault I am not the one who has a gambling problem you do. I don’t even care about how much money you could have made. This was our life. You gambled away our life saving.
You didn’t even let me in on how we were financially. We could have made it through. This is your mess now clean it. I’ll be at my brother’s. Henry felt betrayed. Margaret was enraged. The kind of rage that makes you feel numb. A lack of self-control. Henry was blind sided to understand how quickly his life was changing.
Henry felt thrown into what he felt like was someone else life. Margaret attacked Henry. She slapped him in the face. I want some cake. Do you want some? Befuddled Henry pulled his hand from his face. You are crazy. Margaret laughed. I’m not crazy. I might be losing this house and my mind but I’m not crazy. And this she said is your fault. She went to the kitchen. My fault he said charging after her. She took the biggest knife from the drawer. And removed the glass cake over. How could you be so irresponsible? Margaret cut a big chunk of the cake and placed it on the table. She licked the chocolate frosting. You should have gotten a second job.
A second job? You know what I’m done with you. Me? Yes you. As Henry was turning to walk away she hit him in the head with the glass cover. Take that you cheating jerk. Henry woke up tied to a chair and gagged. Margaret was on the phone. Yeah that one hundred grand I owe you I got it. Just get over here. She hung up the phone. She turned to him and said some of my problems are almost over my love. She squeezed his cheek. He pulled his head away. He tried talking through the handkerchief. What’s that I can’t hear you? She pulled it down to his cheek. Who was on the phone?.
My partner she smiled. What kind of partner? My new business venture. Let me go. She pulled the cloth back over his mouth. She looked at her watch. A car pulled into her driveway. The sound of a person walking upstairs gave Henry the chills. An average built black man stepped into the room. What the fuck is this? It’s the money I owe you. Listen man I don’t deal in male prostitution. She laughed. We can sell his organs on the black market.
The man sat on the bed. Now I have heard of some crazy shit but this. He scratched his head is the worst. Come on he is a healthy white male. We can get at least one hundred grand. Henry couldn’t believe his ears. Tears fell down his face. Margaret saw him. She went over and kissed his lips. Then she pulled the handkerchief back over his mouth. She turned to the man and started kissing him. Henry’s eyes widen. He couldn’t believe that the woman he loved for twenty years was doing this.
Margaret. Pulled the mans shirt down. She kissed all over his chest. The man grabbed her by the neck and pushed his young down her throat. Trying to scream. Henry tried wiggling from the ropes around his hand and feet. The chair fell over. But he was still bound. Hopelessly he watched Margaret laying the man down on the bed. Henry closed his eyes. Margaret started moaning and screaming. After what seemed like two hours Henry. Heard a zipper and a lighter flick. Margaret was under the sheets smoking a cigarette. The man leaned over and kissed her on the forehead. I'm sorry boo but I want the money tomorrow.
He walked out of the door. Henry and Margaret stared at one another for five minutes. What she said? Henry frowned. She got out of the bed naked. She pulled him back to his feet. She leaned over to him and spit in his face. You are worth nothing to me. Siemen started sliding down her leg. Henry looked at it and back at his wife. He turned his head with shame. She walked over to the shower. Henry heard the water turn on. He tried desperately to get loose from the knots.
The water shuts off. Margaret stepped out of the shower soak and wet. Henry was still tied up. She puts on a bath robe. She walks over to her husband slowly. Maybe I should just let you go. Henry’s eyes widen. She laughed. She took her finger nail and gave Henry a long hard scratch in his face. Blood seeped down his cheek. Then she punched him in the lap. Tears rolled down his face. I’ll be back she said getting dressed. After dressing she reached for her cell phone and called Sony. An old raspy voice answers. Yeah. Listen I can’t pay you back right now but I need another loan or Jax is going to kill me tomorrow. How much? 150. Are you out of your mind you already owe me 50. How are you going to get a that money? Never mind that will you are not? No I want my money tonight. Tonight? The phone went dead. Damn she screamed.
She looked at Henry it’s too bad the life insurance policy lapsed. You’re a lucky bastard. She chuckled for now. When I get back we will have some fun. Then she left down stairs with her keys and bag. Driving through traffic she pulls out a tiny whiskey bottle and takes two drinks. She came to a stop at a red light. Henry felt the knot loosen. He got his right hand freed. He undid his feet and gag and ran for the door.
Margaret drove after given the green light. She drove to the liquor store for more booze. After her shopping she got back home. And she went upstairs. Henry was gone. Noooo! She threw her bags on the floor. What seems to be the problem? A voice with a Russian accent asked. She turned around and saw two men staring at her. A large fist hits her in the head. Margaret wakes up in the dark. She was now gagged and bound. The dark space was small. She knew that She was in the back of a trunk. Fuck! Thought Margaret I’m a dead woman. The car stops. The trunk door opens. It was dark outside. You sound have learned from all the stories. The men grabbed her by her shirt. They were in the open woods. No one but a deserted road was there. Margaret looked next to her feet and saw a large hole in the ground. The head lights from the car made it look deep. Both men pointed a gun at her face. Margaret closed her eyes.
Henry was driving and in deep thought. He felt tired. He was an hour from his brothers house. He cracked the window. A cool breeze swept across his face. Henry took a sip of his coffee. A glare caught his attention throughout the trees to his left. He was the only car on the road. As he got closer. He saw two men standing in front of a car and a third person in front of them. The third person dropped. Shit he said and he spilled his coffee. It fell on his lap. Damn it. He got back control of the car.
After arriving at his brothers house he thought about Margaret. He loved his wife. He couldn’t help but pity her. He knew that some bad
