About this ebook

The poetry in this collection was written in the second half of 2020 and early '21. A grim time of political ineptitude. The poems are a narrative of these times influenced by a fragmented society at odds with the definition of freedom and liberty. This work is inspired by the seclusion of realism evolved from a pursuit of literature that attempts to inform and confront. In these uncertain days lived within an epoch of war, disaster, and political events fearfully held in suspense by the pandemic, Lambski dug out a seam of creativity. Every poem feeds off an impulse to express. The author takes on a challenge by social conditions to deliver a body of work through prose that can hopefully induce debate on the illusion and reality of our understanding of freedom. The determination is always to liberate.

    PREFACE

Au milieu de la foule j’ai pleure comme un fils perdu errant pieds nus dans le sang des martyrs.

    ANOTHER ARMY

    Solution of protagonists’,

    Constitutional divinist.

    Report control to dusky dawn,

    As repatriating flags perform.

    Sovereignty questioned for the facts,

    History delivers, stealth attacks.

    Continue wars devout to maime,

To kill your children twice again.

    Terribly sorry here’s your medal,

For your leg blown off in the ghetto.

Go thank your lover’s tearful trust,

    Promoting sacrificial dust.

Play those songs and fly the flag,

    Give political resistance media flack.

Join us now to portray death,

    Justify slaughter coined on breath.

    Awoken to mornings rainbow clock,

In the dawn of battalion rock.

My heart connected to my brain,

I forgot to die, oh all the same.

Temple salvation prayer of holy ghost,

For people that you love the most.

Though I’ll supplicate not and stay true,

As another army drifts on tears of dew.

    ANTIQUATED EMBLEMS

    Resist to culminate,

    Information recognises fate.

    Stormy cries destroy the mind,

    Dodging relentless hail unkind.

Force fed on fever smashed to chill,

Subjected on knees a prayer of will.

A rolling doubt as winds decline,

    Repossesive law of stealing time.

Oh waitress the bill is overdue,

I laughed at dinners costly spew.

    Arriving in convictions transparent fee,

    My blood was drunken artistry.

Coming through the cove by dusk,

    Navigations of rocky busted trust.

    Gathers shoals’ blindly dumped,

Along shores of their taxes stunt.

Barriers to freedom burn the same,

Bloodshed foe on foe the game.

    Grasslands wither in suns feared,

    Running rivers evaporation sphere.

    A question was historic doubt,

    Clearings in the forest shout.

    Faces’ blank and uninformed,

Wasted low land in the storms.

    Rising dawns clearly burn,

    Oceans steam a colour turn.

    Clouds in angry formation warn,

    Expect deliverance fast to storm.

    Conclusive yeah a cauldron spike,

    A poison presentable to might.

Oh say, believe a spoken myth,

    Antiquated emblem now bequeathed.

    A QUEST CALLED DOVE

    Presumed like moons create,

    Divinations rejection of sanguine fate.

    Tortured only in quarters waned,

    Thirst of resistance at barricades.

    Falling stars like summer’s drunk,

Crashed to oceans, a meteor lump.

A hiss, a steam so totally burnt,

Escapades of dolphins’ to touch and turn.

    Signals blind to midnight pines,

    Earth and stone of mountainsides.

    Precious constant of the trail,

Drinking wrath to drown the vale.

    Falling out of sleep returning,

    Cruising in a forest burning.

    Half alive denounced unsaid,

Coaxing for my heart some breath.

Son of valley born to coal,

Bribed with hash and stoned for dole.

Wonder high on myths red creature,

    Dragon overdoses feature.

    Wail oh wail at entrances,

    Devoid my mouth of sentences.

I stop at a crossroad there to think,

Charged the price I’m high on drink.

    Inflate I’m merry grass alright,

Storm the next town on the right.

    Seek conjecture and court peril,

    Devices launch a warfare demo.

    Think again you highland ghost,

Burn the fragrant stench and toast.

    Life’s devoid of mutineers’,

For skull of fed land profiteers’.

    BANKERS’ STONES

    Hearing,

    Summers clearing.

    Calling seas swollen storm,

To crash upon a tempest thorn.

    Crowned like victims’ slight denial,

    Earthquake caused a stoney pile.

    Myths of ages crumble,

    Weed on dusty highways tumble.

Thirsty for a cold pure spring,

    Dying like wind whistling.

    Desert overcomes an oasis,

    Corpses’ plead
