About this ebook

The Divine Dark Feminine Series Book 2

The Divine Dark Feminine series is intended as a subjective look at those individuals who work devotionally with a particular feminine deity, entity, energy, or archetype. In this book Scott Irvine shares his journey with the goddess of death: Ereshkigal. This is an open, honest and at times raw look at what it means to work with the goddess Ereshkigal. In this book Scott shares her mythology and her sorrows as well as some of his own. A beautiful spiritual journey which is both informative and emotive.

    INTRODUCTION

The feminine goddess, both the dark and wanton harlots and the grieving mother - all have a place not only in the world but within each and every one of us: our shadow side, our lost moments, regrets, resentments and heartaches. The dark and divine feminine exists in all of us and has always done so.

This book explores some of those darker emotions, that come with the heartache of loss, whether thrust upon us or of our own doing heartbreak has affected or will affect us all in some way.

Ereshkigal is no stranger to grief and loss. She does not condemn our sorrow, our rage, or our inability to cope. Instead, through her own heartache she shows us that grief is something which can bring a deeper understanding of the continuation of life, and how death is an essential part of our spiritual journey. Though painful, grief can bring about the change needed to heal our emotional scars.

    THE QUEEN OF DEATH

Ereshkigal sat patiently alongside the seven Anunnaki judges, waiting for her sister to arrive from the land of the living. Her mood, like her influence across the three worlds, was dark. Ereshkigal’s sister, Ishtar, was Queen of the Heaven in the Upperworld, Queen of the Earth in the Middleworld, and was now on her way to claim Ereshkigal’s Underworld realm too. Only over Ereshkigal’s dead body would that ever happen. The Underworld had been the Dark
