About this ebook

Once conquered, your fears can become your greatest source of strength.

As a new year begins at the Magnifico Finishing School for Magical Arts, Olivia, Esme and Agatha are looking forward to learning new spells and making their guardian, Uncle Rufus, burst his buttons with pride.

New friends meet, old relationships are tested, and the Fairchild triplets discover the true meaning of sisterhood. But a storm is coming, and none of them are prepared for the epic heartache at the loss for which they will suffer.

On top of all that, the Magnifico School will play host for one entire semester to The Little Disciples, an all-boy school of Witchcraft that focuses on what they term "Gray Magic". They have a reputation for crossing the line into the Darker Practice of Witchcraft, and their differing philosophy could become a source of contention. Especially given the attitude of their student body President, Vincent DeMarrow.

Join the G'Witches for yet another round of intrigue, side splitting Magic, and Mayhem!

    G'Witches 2 - C.D. Gorri

    1

On move in day for the first semester of a new year at Magnifico Finishing School for the Magical Arts, Esme Fairchild was noticeably absent.

Where DOES she keep disappearing to? Olivia fumed.

The most organized of the Witch triplets, she tended to like things to be orderly. So, after all of her belongings were put away, she started on Esme’s possessions, hanging her sister’s various, gowns, skirts, blouses and robes inside one of three wardrobes provided for that purpose in their octagonal shaped shared dorm room.

I’m not sure, Agatha said airily, turning from side to side, and smiling at herself in her own wardrobe mirror.

She was enjoying her voluptuous, enhanced cleavage that she’d acquired by Spellwork the previous year. She had even been offered a modeling job for a spread in Naughty Necromancer Weekly, a periodical exclusively printed for horny male Witches-in-training that featured the most curvaceous of young Witches, scantily clad of course, and posing in provocative positions.

It was Witch porn, pure and simple. And though, the magazine was on the official list of forbidden periodicals at Magnifico, there were dozens of copies of the contraband publication tucked under mattresses in the Boy’s dormitories.

She had just gotten here, and then she said she had to take care of something and ran off. That was about an hour ago, I think. Agatha puffed out a breath.

    Olivia looked perturbed.

I’m putting a Tractus Plume out for her, Olivia said firmly. I refuse to put all of my stuff away AND hers!

She won’t appreciate that, Agatha said in a disinterested tone. You know how she hates any attention drawn to her.

Don’t care, underwear Olivia snapped, stepping up to the huge picture window facing the Eastern woodland that surrounded the campus. She should have told us where she was going!

Having practiced many of the Unuttered Spells over the Summer break at Uncle Rufus’s castle-like mansion, she took in a deep breath and concentrated on her absent sibling. The three sisters were not just triplets, after all, they were bosom buddies. It wasn’t like Esme to disappear. She did have a tendency to be lazy, but she was generally dependable.

As soon as she unleashed the spell, she saw a puff of purple smoke unfurl like a windsock over the woods near the horizon. There, she thought with a satisfied smirk at seeing her magic take flight.

She’s gone to the RIMS! Olivia gasped in surprise once her sister’s location was revealed.

The RIMS was the transitional area that surrounded the roughly circular territory of the campus. An area that separated the school for magic. Magnifico was located in the middle of Manhattan, but it remained invisible to most of the normal human population. The students had been told not to venture into the RIMS because creatures existed there that were considered dangerous. Magnifico kept their liability insurance low by declaring them verboten.

They had even posted signs around the campus perimeter. Not that students really needed to be warned. A perpetual dank fog seemed to hang over the netherland of the RIMS. It was dark and foreboding, and the sun that shone over the adjoining campus was for some reason unable to penetrate the tangled wood of that part of the property.

NO WAY! Agatha said, suddenly engaged and jumping over to stand beside her sister. She’ll be riled that you used the locator spell, though. Whatever she’s up to, it’s obviously something she doesn’t want anyone else to know about!

Of course, Olivia and Agatha had to go see what Esme was up to. They soon reached a more or less desolated meadowland, obscured by its own protective and circular grove of trees, and found not only Esme, but an apparently new rescue pet.

It’s sheer size alone explained why Esme had elected not to bring it to their dorm quarters. It appeared to be a ladybug as large as a Volkswagen Beetle.

Oh, hi you two! Esme greeted them cheerfully, "I’m glad you’re here! I wanted you to meet Dorothy, aka, my new rescue pet ‘DOT’…

I found her all alone outside of a cottage. She was the sole survivor after the homeowners had their house sprayed for an infestation.

Over school break, I left her in a sheltered spot I created for her, along with some aphids, raisins and leaves and also a batch of Vita Growth Creature Syrup that I managed to whip up just before we took off to see Uncle Rufus," she continued unphased by her sisters’ equally horrified stares.

I wasn’t sure that she would survive without me, that’s why I didn’t mention her. But as you can see, she not only survived but has thrived. I guess I concocted a pretty good batch of the syrup! Anyway the best part of all is that she remembers me! Isn’t that sweet?

Both Agatha and Olivia looked at each other with twin expressions of wonderment and awe. Their eyes flashed back to Esme. They hated stating the obvious, but someone had to mention the elephant, er, ladybug in the room!

Don’t you think she belongs in a zoo or something? Olivia questioned. I mean she is so humongous! Surely you can’t expect to keep her out here on the RIMS as a personal pet.

Esme’s lower lip jutted out a bit as she replied while stroking the head of her overly affectionate, entirely enormous ladybug. I certainly don’t see why not! I know we have restrictions about the size and form of our pets inside of the dorms, but Dot here is not technically even on campus! Besides, I did my homework! The RIMS are considered a no man’s land between the campus and the City Parklands. No one will see her because no one ever comes here. Both of you should know that!

Olivia sighed. Of the three of the young practicing Witches, Esme definitely could be the most stubborn. And her love of nature and its creatures made her great at Elemental Witchcraft. Also of the three of them, she was the most adept at harnessing the energy and spirit of earth, air, fire, and water.

Agatha went up to the huge ladybug who seemed to welcome her gently with her antennae. Her heart softened towards the creature until eventually, she too was smiling adoringly at Dot. The bug was so stinking cute, cocking her head with its shiny black insect eyes side to side that she instantly won Agatha over.

AAAAW, Agatha said. She does seem more like a pet than an insect. What a cutie!

Thank you, Esme replied, with a touch of pride in her voice. I am so proud of her. I wish she could come inside the building, but I know the school officials would pitch a fit. She frowned and petted the great big beastie, sighing before she spoke again.

Look how she seems to understand me when I talk to her. Makes sense to me because I have always felt that insects are far more intelligent than they are given credit for. She nodded along with Dot who mimicked the movement.

Anyway, my big concern right now is building her another shelter, since she outgrew the first one. Do you think Melvin and Audra would help us? They’re the only ones I would ever trust. No one else can know about Dot! She snapped her eyes to both sisters for confirmation on that one sentiment, gratified when she saw they agreed.

No kidding sister, Olivia commented, finding that against her better judgment that she enjoyed being around the supersized insect more than she had anticipated.

You do know you could actually be expelled for having an unauthorized rescue pet.

I think Uncle Rufus would help us if they tried to kick me out over it, Esme sniffed as she fed a handful of fan shaped Ginkgo tree leaves to Dot, who was happily munching on them one by one. I think he would get his attorney on it pronto. Dot is essentially in a safe zone. The powers that be at Magnifico have no jurisdiction over it at all. Plus, she isn’t in our dorm room. She added as the facts began to pile up in her favor.

"My only concern is that she will try to follow me back…but so far she seems happy with her surroundings.

Okay, it is settled then. I think everyone should have some time Saturday to build her new digs, Agatha said brightly. And I’m sure that Audra and Melvin will be willing to help.

All at once she started laughing, with Agatha joining in.

    What-what’s so funny? Esme asked.

ONLY YOU! Agatha managed to get out. Would wind up with a pet as big as a compact car! She IS terribly cute though!

Oh, Esme said, relieved. I do love her, you know! Not just because she is pretty but because she has great vibes. Even INSECTS are nicer than most people if you really think about it. Anyway, she is amazing! Dot doesn’t even mind flying with me on her back.

    No way!

Yes way! Lady bugs can fly up to 3,600 feet in the air for over 75 miles at a time! Bet neither of you knew that! She gave her sisters a teasing glance, before adding quickly.

    "So anyway…who wants to take
