About this ebook

Darryl D Bunting had it all: a wonderful family, a strong relationship with the Lord, and a successful career as a mathematics teacher.

But as he was picking up some items from the floor after a class left, he felt short of breath and dizzy. When the school nurse found his blood pressure a little elevated, she suggested he make an appointment with this doctor … but he brushed it off.

Later, after a family gathering, he felt lightheaded, short of breath, and sick to his stomach before losing consciousness. He did not go to the hospital, but he did mention the incident to his Sunday school class.

Someone who managed a cardiovascular office made sure he went to the clinic to be fitted with a Holter monitor. Once that data was in hand, it became clear that God was not just sending the author through a challenging trial—He was leading him through the trial using Christian friends to help him on the way.

Join the author as he shares a memorial of words to God’s care and provision through seven pacemaker implants to remedy heart problems.

    Conclusion

    INTRODUCTION

God loves you and me, God saves us through His Son, Jesus Christ, and God sustains us through the indwelling of His Holy Spirit. These are the most important fundamentals of my faith. Therefore, this account of my journey with heart failure is to express how thankful I am to God for sustaining me through every step of this journey. He put people in my life to meet certain needs and controlled circumstances to show His watch-care over me. Many of those people God put into my pathway I will mention by their full name, so by chance if they read this, they will know how thankful I am for the parts they played.

After more than thirty years of teaching adult Sunday school, I was always impressed by the fact that many of the Bible characters built a memorial to the Lord to commemorate events in their lives.

Jacob used the stone he slept on to build a memorial to commemorate his vision of a ladder that God’s angels were ascending and descending to earth on and the message from the Lord that he and his
