Introduction
Dear Readers,
I would like to take this time to enlighten you on one great story, and a wonderful lady that wrote this book. It takes you into a little girl’s world. As Patty tries to make her way back home meeting people along the way. Growing up as you see her turn into a sweet young lady in each page you turn it makes you feel that you are there pulling for her between love and being an artist for the world to see. With the ups and downs in her life knowing she is stuck between two worlds, the one she tries so hard to remember, and her other one that’s new for her home is where her heart is with a new beginning and questions of her past not knowing will she ever find the peace in her heart she looking for.
Author Brenda Huffman shows off her wonderful imagination and her great storytelling. Making each page full of magic for anyone to read. The characters are unforgettable. Brenda was born poor like Patty. She had to work hard to make her dreams come true. For years in her life she had her ups and downs but like Patty in her book she never gave up in what she believed in to make her world shine for others to see. Growing up with her through the years I got to see the love in her heart for people like Patty. She makes her stand on what’s in her heart and soul in bringing her art live for others to enjoy. Being an artist and a writer myself it’s important for people to understand that paper is like a canvas and the pen is the brush to make our art and magic from within our minds and hearts that’s what real story telling is all about. Touching people lives for a brief moment that the reader will remember for a lifetime that’s what a real book does. Brenda brings this out beautifully she a great writer and the world will soon see for dream do come true if you only believe in yourself if a writer can make you turn page then they done the there job and Brenda does just that I hope that you will enjoy her book as much as I did it is a truly wonderful read and it is a must to put in your collection.
Sincerely.

THE BIG HOUSE
I t began to grow dark as the sun went down, and the big oak tree began to twist in the wind. The shadow of the little girl stood in the doorway holding her doll close to her, waiting for her Mom to come back. Patty, is five years old, she and her Mom live in an old farm house in up state Connecticut. They had been alone since her Dad had left three years before, when Patty was just a baby. Her Mom was forced to work in a mill on the edge of town to support both of them, and the little girl found the hours after school so lonely. She waited patiently; the evenings were a special time for Patty and her Mom, and it was past time for her to be here, almost time for supper in fact! She wasn’t usually this late, but Patty knew she would arrive soon, it will be just like every other night, thought Patty!
It had a been while since the call from her mother ; she frowned as she remembered the call: It was not like her mom to be late, and she’d said she was on her way when she called! It seemed to Patty it had been a very long time! The wind grew stronger, Patty climbed up
