Marcia begins the book “Angels I Have Seen” by explaining, first, how her mystical gift of prophecy, seeing and hearing the things of the spirit, developed. She spent 25 years listening to the Spirit and automatically writing what she heard. Angels I Have Seen

An Amazing Mystical Journey Begins

There is no such thing as old visions of angels. I will give you new visions of angels to paint!

The message from the Spirit had come loud and clear, at least it was clear.

The Spirit’s voice is seldom loud. In fact it is not even audible. The voice was one that I had learned to hear speaking since 1983. It has been an amazing journey since my first real mystical vision. The inner journey is my passion, this journey with the Spirit of God.

Jesus said to his disciples, "I have more to tell you but you cannot hear it now. When the Spirit of truth comes, He will remind you of all I have said to you and will lead you into all truth. (John 14:23)

We are designed to communicate with God through the Holy Spirit that lives in us…the divine Spirit that is the same as the individual spirit that is our eternal being. We are created to receive messages from the Spirit of God. It just takes some practice and a spiritual community that teaches:

1. that it is possible to hear and see messages from the Spirit and

2. that encourages us to strengthen our abilities to hear and see.

This is the kind of church I have been part of for most of my adult life….where I opened up spiritually, where my mystical gifts began and were encouraged. I have been looking for more of God all of my life and this is where and how I found it.

God started speaking to me in inner words that sound like me talking to myself, but I began to recognize the voice is not my own. The message is received rather that self-generated.

Seeing Picture Messages from the Spirit

One day during church service the Spirit began to speak to me in picture messages. I heard many people talk about the pictures that came to their minds while praying. The effect of hearing about these experiences was like throwing gasoline on a fire. It ignited my spirit and I wanted that experience for myself. My desire was answered.

The first picture I saw from the Spirit was a picture of Jesus with children.

I had our youngest daughter sitting on my lap during the worship service. Sarah was two years old and a bit of a wiggle worm. She usually was in the nursery during church but for some reason this day she was with me.

I thought Brother, I am not going to hear anything from the Spirit today during quiet time! I usually sat very still listening for a brief word from God. Because of Sarah’s energy I knew I would be too distracted to hear a thing in that quiet internal place. But I closed my eyes to concentrate and listen anyway. BAM, a picture popped into my mind.

This picture was of Jesus standing in the middle of a big group of rowdy children. He was at least two feet taller than any of the children. The children were pushing and shoving and running around yelling and laughing. They were having fun. And Jesus was standing in the middle of it all laughing and laughing. Wow!

What was the message of this brief video picture? It was that Jesus was enjoying all of this kid energy and so could I. God was inviting me to enjoy Sarah’s energy and not be irritated by it. And God was showing me that I could hear Him speak in the middle of the madness…..in fact, I could see visions in the middle of the madness, too. Wow! This was amazing!

I began to realize that I am a visual person. I slowly became awake to this part of me.
