Using descriptive language and clever font choices the reader follows Amy as she searches for just the right pumpkin to give a home to. Amy ignores all the boastful whispers of the other pumpkins until she finds the humble, lonely, lovely pumpkin that is just perfect for her. Cody does a brilliant job of teaching young readers (and of reminding adults) that often times those with the greatest potential and the greatest need are often overlooked. In the end readers not only get to enjoy a book that is visually delightful, but has a moral that is relatable and important to everyone.
