Introduction
First of all I want to thank God for giving me wisdom for the retention of knowledge I’ve accumulated with time, and for the understanding and the experience needed to write this information manual. This manual will be beneficial for every learning level. Even if you are an experienced songwriter, this guide will help you organize and improve your personal technique. And if you’ve haven’t written a song before, don’t worry, this learning guide has been specifically written for you. I know there are similar books out there for you to choose from, but what makes this learning guide different is that you will be able to interact with me, the author. My purpose is to guide you through your learning process. I will be with you every step of the way, giving you my personal insight into the art of writing songs. I will take you with me onto my journey of self analysis, which will help you to analyze your self essential for becoming a successful song writer.
My name is Raymond S Newton Rivera. I came up with the idea of writing this information manual to answer the questions I am frequently asked. I am a music producer, singer-songwriter, currently working on my first album. I’ve been writing songs since I was 12 years old. Throughout the years, I’ve written over 30 songs registered in the Library of Congress. As an author, I will give you my perspective of a songwriter that is ready to make history for a positive cause. As an artist, I will demonstrate that you don’t have to be a known artist to make it big in the music industry. All you need as an artist is to have a diverse supply of well-written songs. I will also give you an up-front look at four songs that will be part of my first album, which is coming out soon. I will use two of those songs as examples for how to learn basic song structure. You will have a clear difference in several types of songs and it will help you learn how to create your own rhyming vocabulary and how to write songs with sense and sequence.

My Musical
Perspective
Everyone has a personal story to tell. My songwriter’s biography started when I was 12 years old, but my love for music developed very early as a child. I was born on November 9, 1977 in San Juan, Puerto Rico. When I was still an infant my parents move to the States, where I lived between Homestead and Miami, FL for the first eight years of my life. In my initial years, late 70s, early 80s, I was exposed to a musical explosion of great songwriters, artists, and musicians. Even though my first language was English, Spanish was also spoken in my household. I remember listening to salsa, merengue. I was influenced by latin artist, such as Hector Lavoe, Frankie Ruiz, Eddie Santiago, El Gran Combo, La Fania, Johnny Ventura, Los Hermanos
