    Introduction

I first would like to make this very clear: I’m nothing more than an average man, but probably a little lower than most. I do not claim to have a high degree of intelligence concerning the Holy Scriptures. I have studied the Scriptures for many years. I have relied on my Father in Heaven only for the understanding of His Word.

The Word of God teaches us that if we knock, the door will be opened to us (Matthew 7:7–8). In the very beginning of my studies of Scripture, I did not understand one word of it. I realized, at that time, that I was a carnal man with a carnal mind. The problem was, how could I determine spiritual knowledge from the written carnal language of the Bible? I first had to recognize what was carnal and what was spiritual. Then I realized that what was carnal, many times, was literal truth but had a spiritual knowledge behind it all. My realizing this truth is when the picture of spiritual knowledge focused so well. I could then see the full picture of carnal language going to a carnal mind but producing spiritual knowledge. I know this might sound a little foreign to you, but after you’ve finished reading this book, you will understand the spiritual knowledge of the carnal language.

Quite often, as I’m reading Scripture, I put myself right there in the story with the characters. I have walked with Adam and Eve and our Lord in the Garden of Eden in the cool of the day. As I think about it now, I can feel the love of God. There was no stress, no worry, no pain, no sin in the world to bring us shame.

At that time, the world of Adam and Eve was as our Lord prayed in His teaching ministry for His disciples. He taught how to pray to our Father in Heaven, as Jesus prayed these words: Thy kingdom come on Earth as it is in Heaven.

I suspect that many of us have read the Bible from Genesis to Revelation, and if not, then we still know of the stories and events within the books of the Bible. As Christians, we should realize that the world was perfect. We remember that God created Adam and Eve in His own perfect image. The Bible teaches that Adam and Eve had no sin. The world they lived in had no existence of sin. If they walked with God daily, they were in the light. The Bible teaches us that in the light, there is no darkness.

But darkness did come into the world. This is when Satan, God’s adversary, tempted Adam and Eve, and they rebelled against God’s Word by the temptation of Satan, just as adolescents will rebel against their parents to do their own will. This is because of sin in the world.

Many people of this world will rebel against the law—that is, man’s law. Keep in mind, however, that man’s law, in many cases, is the reflection of God’s law—the Ten Commandments. But also keep in mind that we are imperfect beings, as men and women of this world. Our laws may be wishy-washy and too unstable to even be called law. Man will change laws to suit his purpose—or his pocketbook.

Here in Louisiana, at least in my lifetime, gambling was illegal. Legal gambling, however, dates back to the original US colonies. Gambling laws have been pushed forward or reversed for centuries throughout the world. In the United States, the laws concerning gambling have been altered or changed many times through the decades. In 1991, riverboats—in the beginning, a gambling boat—had to leave the shore and be in open waters for gambling to be legal. Then, eventually, the riverboats no longer had to leave the dock to operate legally. Gambling of some kind is everywhere.

Alcohol also once was illegal. During Prohibition in the United States, alcohol was illegal from January 17, 1920, until December 5, 1933. I am quite sure that sales tax on alcohol was the main factor for lawmakers of each state and for representatives of this country in legalizing alcohol.

At one time, abortion was also illegal. The following quotes about abortion come from Wikipedia:

In 1970, Hawaii became the first state to legalize abortions on the request of the women, and New York repealed its 1830 law and allowed abortions up to the 24th week of pregnancy. Similar laws were soon passed in Alaska and Washington.

Specifically, abortion is legal in all US states, and every state has at least one abortion clinic.

Roe versus Wade was a 1971–1973 landmark decision by the US Supreme Court. The court ruled that a state law banded abortions (except to save the life of the mother) was constitutional. The ruling made abortion legal in many circumstances.

In my opinion, abortion (with the exception of saving the life of the mother) and partial-birth abortion never should have been legal. My reasons for this are the many circumstances. What in God’s creation could be more gravely important than to save the life of the mother? I cannot see any other circumstance that would justify taking the life of an unborn child. Many may disagree, but I can plainly see the many circumstances as the root of all evil: the love of money.

Since 1971, there have been millions of unborn babies killed in their mothers’ wombs. I believe this is the most barbaric act of humankind. If you or someone you know has committed this most barbaric act of sin, I pray in the name of Jesus, as I beg you to come to Christ Jesus for the remission of sins. Jesus, from His passion as Christ, as the Tabernacle of God Himself, will renew you with a clean and pure history of life. It is the only way to salvation—by the blood of the Lamb of God. Making the decision to have an abortion had to have been some kind of understanding by a religious belief or perhaps none at all. One thing is certain: it did not come from a relationship with God.

Jesus said, I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life (John 8:12).

Abortion once was illegal. Many things that were illegal are now
