Preface
This book is to help explain the difference between Christianity and Religion. Most people don’t think that there is a difference, but there is. All the information that is within these pages are not of my own opinion. I don’t believe in an answer without proof to back it up. This book is on the other hand 100% correct within its context. Do to everything that I have studied and I know that you will probably get mad at some of the things that are in here and you might call me a liar, but the evidence is clear. If you disagree with anything that is here I would like you to do your own research to check me out. Not saying that I am wrong I would rather you find out the truth on your own outside this book and figure things out that are puzzling to you. Instead of getting mad at this project just read it and then use your own resources and study a bit to find out the truth just like I have. I used trusted websites and books to put this project together.
Chapter 1
What is religion?
When we hear the word religion
we think about a set of practices and beliefs that a person holds with by himself or a group of people. Everyone has a faith of some sort especially if a person or groups are following another man’s beliefs that effect the persons mind as a faith in a specific thing. A person might say that he/she doesn’t have a faith in something then they can’t count in this. If that person’s believes in something and believes that it will guide them in the right directing and give them what they desire that is a faith in something and you have created yourself a type of god. You can worship cars, money, cloths, shoes, people, loved ones, etc. And the list can go on and on. But putting your faith in a specific object and put it on a higher level than anything else you have created yourself a type of god therefore u have a religion.
Many cultures of the world have different gods, goddesses, or a god of some sort. The matter of tracking them and naming every single one of them is humanly impossible unless someone has already done it in which is likely not possible. You have hundreds of religions and among the big popular ones you have the little ones that sometimes get started and then die off. Some may gather a small number of believers and stay alive simply by keeping the generation after their followers in it unless they convert to something else. Some groups are totally harmless physically but spiritually dangerous. Even some groups in which you would call a Cult in which the leader takes control of your very life and how you live from day to day is dangerous both physically and spiritually. Examining all these religious groups thoroughly will be a problem because there are way too many to even dig into and not to mention every day a new one springs up.
So I will first look at the very word of religion to show you exactly what the word means in which not many people don’t actually pay attention to. Not many people like talking about the subject and like to keep it to themselves because it is a private thing to most to have in their life. It’s funny to me that people try to make some things that are major into a religion in which I will cover in this book. But regardless of what someone wants to make into a religion you need to know exactly what the word means before trying to turn something into a religion. The term should be used carefully before just applying it to whatever you want to use it for. Am I saying that there are ways that u can use the word that shouldn’t be used to support? Yes, there is ways you shouldn’t use the term especially if you do not know what it means. People try it all the time and you need to be aware that religion will be a very dangerous thing when you are following somebody into that particular group and lifestyle.
Origin:
1150-1200; Middle English religioun (< Old French religion ) < Latin religiōn—(stem of religiō ) conscientiousness, piety, equivalent to relig (āre) to tie, fasten (re- re- + ligāre to bind, tie; compare ligament) + -iōn- -ion; compare rely (Pulled from Dictionary.com)
Ok, so in the definition that I have provided to you simply says that religion is mans own way to reconnect a personal relationship with GOD in some form or fashion…
The picture of religion started with Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. In Genesis Chapter 3 we see that Eve was deceived by the serpent in which Lucifer took the form of. Look at chapter 3 closely. Gen. 3:1-24 speaks of the sin entering into the world by man and women. But notice in the chapter at verses 6-7 speaks of Eve seeing the trees fruit and her eyes opened to the desire to partake of the fruit and she ate it. When Eve gave Adam the fruit and he ate of it they both saw that they were naked and to hide their nakedness they sowed fig leaves together in verse 7. When the LORD God called to Adam asking where did he go? Adam stated that he heard the LORD’s voice and was afraid because of his nakedness and the LORD asked him how did he know this. Adam said that Eve tempted him with fruit and he ate of it. GOD asked Eve why she did this and Eve stated that she was tempted by the serpent. In verse 21 of Genesis chapter 3 GOD gave Adam and Eve tunics of animal skin. Now not a lot of people really catch this. Adam and Eve used fig leaves to hide their shame. GOD instead put a tunic of animal skin on them. The picture here is that Adam and Eve were using their own ways to cover up what sin allowed them to see but it wasn’t good enough so GOD used a sacrifice, an animal which was innocent to cover Adam and Eve’s shame.
Another picture is with Cain and Abel in Genesis 4. Cain and Abel built alters in which to sacrifice to GOD, in which Abel brought the very best of his sheep, one without spot and blemish. Cain brought the very best of his garden to sacrifice to GOD. This is one of the best pictures in scripture that pictures faith alone vs. works righteousness. Cain’s sacrifice to GOD wasn’t pleasing to Him and Abel’s, He was. Cain tried using his own works for the merit for his sin and it wasn’t good enough. Abel’s sacrifice worked because it cost an innocent life to pay the price for a guilty one. Jesus Christ was pictured here and I will cover more on Jesus later. Cain got mad at Abel do to jealousy and killed Abel. GOD then banished Cain out of the land because of his wickedness.
Chapter 2
How did religion start?
The King of Religion
Lucifer is his heavenly angelic name, but after his fall from heaven he is referred as Satan, the bright morning star, the devil, etc. He, Lucifer is the one fuelling religion along with his evil angels that rebelled against God with him.
There is no verse or passage in the Bible that says, Lucifer is Satan,
but an examination of several passages reveals that Lucifer can be none other than Satan. The fall of Lucifer described in Isaiah 14:12 is likely the same that Jesus referred to in Luke 10:18: I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven.
A similar fall is depicted in Ezekiel 28.
"How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!"
"And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven."
"The word of the LORD came again unto me, saying,
Son of man, say unto the prince of Tyrus, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Because thine heart is lifted up, and thou hast said, I am a God, I sit in the seat of God, in the midst of the seas; yet thou art a man, and not God, though thou set thine heart as the heart of God:
Behold, thou art wiser than Daniel; there is no secret that they can hide from thee:
With thy wisdom and with thine understanding thou hast gotten thee riches, and hast gotten gold and silver into thy treasures:
By thy great wisdom and by thy traffick hast thou increased thy riches, and thine heart is lifted up because of thy riches:
Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Because thou hast set thine heart as the heart of God;"
Isaiah 14:12-18 describes the fall from heaven of one called Lucifer
in the King James Version and the morning star, son of the dawn
in the NIV. Other Bible versions call him Day Star,
shining star,
and the bright morning star.
These variations are due to differences of opinion about how to translate the Hebrew word helel. Regardless, the description of the one referred to shows us it can be none other than Satan. We know from Jesus’ own words in Luke 10 that Satan fell from heaven. So, when Isaiah refers to Lucifer or helel being cast down to earth (Isaiah 14:12), it can be none other than Satan. The reason for his fall is found in verses 13 and 14: "You said in your heart, ‘I will ascend to heaven; I will raise my throne above the stars of God; I will sit enthroned on the mount of assembly, on the utmost heights of the sacred mountain. I will ascend above the tops of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High.’ This has always been Satan’s desire—to be God, and it is the very temptation he used in the Garden of Eden to get Eve to disobey God:
You shall be as God" (Genesis 3:5).
Ezekiel 28 is another passage thought to refer to Lucifer/Satan. Although it begins with Ezekiel being commanded by God to take up a lament concerning the king of Tyre
(v. 12), an evil idolatrous king, it soon becomes clear that the passage is referring as well to the power behind that king—Satan. Verse 13 says he was in Eden, the garden of God.
Clearly, the king of Tyre was never in Eden. Verse 14 says, You were anointed as a guardian cherub, for so I ordained you.
Apparently, Lucifer/Satan had a position of guardian angel in heaven among the fiery stones,
thought to be the shining precious jewels that are seen in other descriptions of heaven (Exodus 24:10; Revelation 21:18-21). Since the king of Tyre was never in heaven, either, this can only be describing Lucifer. The rest of the passage describes the reason he was cast out of heaven. Because of his beauty, his heart became proud and his wisdom was corrupted (v. 17). Pride in his perfection, wisdom and beauty (v. 12) became the source of his downfall, and God threw him to the earth (v. 17). This was witnessed by the Lord Jesus in heaven before His incarnation (Luke 10:18).
"And they saw the God of Israel: and there was under his feet as it were a paved work of a sapphire stone, and as it were the body of heaven in his clearness."
"And the building of the wall of it was of jasper: and the city was pure gold, like unto clear glass.
And the foundations of the wall of the city were garnished with all manner of precious stones. The first foundation was jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, a chalcedony; the fourth, an emerald;
The fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, sardius; the seventh, chrysolite; the eighth, beryl; the ninth, a topaz; the tenth, a chrysoprasus; the eleventh, a jacinth; the twelfth, an amethyst.
And the twelve gates were twelve pearls; every several gate was of one pearl: and the street of the city was pure gold, as it were transparent glass."
"And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven."
The start of religion by man
To summarize, the Hebrew word helel is translated Lucifer.
He was cast out of heaven for his sin of pride and his desire to be God. Jesus referred to seeing Satan being cast out of heaven. Therefore, we can conclude that Lucifer and Satan are one and the same.
Time went on by and in Genesis 11 we see that these people built a city and amongst this city they constructed a tower in which was later named the Tower of Babel. A very wicked man named Nimrod was the leader in the construction of this tower. They were building this tower to reach to the heavens. (This tower is in the city of Babylon which is modern day Iraq). Now then, these people were not building this massive tower to reach into the heavens physically but astrologically which is the worship of the heavens, sun, moon, and stars (Gen. 11:1-9).
The following information isn’t based in scripture
.
Nimrod was the first of the god kings in which he wanted loyalty as a king but worship as a god as well. Upon Nimrod’s death, his wife Semerimus claimed that Nimrod sent down a sun beam that impregnated her miraculously and she gave birth to a son named Tammuz. Tammuz was declared to be the savior in (Genesis 3:15). Semerimus demanded worship for herself and for her son Tammuz as the mother goddess and the god child. Tammuz came to be worshipped as the sun and moon god and Semerimus as Mother Earth and the Queen of Heaven (Ezekiel 8; Jeremiah 7:18; 44:17-19). This mother-child fertility cult was judged at the Tower of Babel by the confusion of languages which now the names of Semerimus and Tammuz were known by many names when Satan’s harlot church spread around the world. This is what religion is and the harm that it has done to the people involved.
Set apart from the Lord GOD almighty and this is what man comes up with, something by himself. In our fallen state we require somebody to guide us in faith so therefore people go so far as to worshipping a god or gods in many forms and even so far as to worship a human. Basically man without GOD in his life cannot make it on his own without creating a image of something that is appeasing with power and strength which comes to look like beast, fowl, fish, plant, serpent, and man. You can see it in the cultures all around you. Studying the cultures will show you that they have a god of some kind. But what people don’t realize is that a brazen image cannot do anything for you. They can’t see and they can’t move unless you move it yourself or demonic power is involved. Religion simply is mans own creation his own works to get to GOD again since that bond has been severed. It’s just that man can’t put the puzzle together without God’s divine intervention. That’s what religion is and that is what it will always be. Various gods came from the division of the languages and as well as tons of pagan practices that stemmed off of this religion. Blinded by sin these people could not see that what they were doing was wrong. They saw what was right in their own eyes therefore they continued to sin like they did against a high and holy God. Here I will show you some of the gods that were in various places around the globe.
(According to John T. Yates for the following)
"Babel: Ashteroth and Tammuz
Egypt: Isis and Osiris or Horus or Re
Greece: Aphrodite and Eros
Rome: Venus and Cupid
Old Rome and Samaria: Venus and Jupiter
India: Indrani or Davaki or Mother India and Krishna (Hara Krishna)
China: Mother Shing Moo and her child
Other false gods: Apollo, Ares, Artemis, Asclepius, Demeter, Dionysus, Eos, Eros, Hephaestus, Hera, Pan, Poseidon, Mars, Aesculapius, Minerva, Ceres, Baccus, Aurora, Vulcan, Juno, Vesta, Faunus, Neptune, Aegir, Freyja, Hel, Loki, Thor, Tyr, Idun, Belanus, Epona, Sucellus, Taranus, Triple Mother, etc.
Many others would be mentioned but it would take a long time to get them together just to show you all of them, and besides without knowing really which one was for what and why would be a book in itself. The most interesting one to know about is Allah. Who was originally worshipped as the crescent moon god in a false pantheon of Arabic gods, which originally would be Tammuz. Today the mother goddess is worshipped in the New Age Movement as Mother Earth, this is the real motive behind the major environmental extremism today. A biblical world view calls us to be good stewards of the earth in the way God wanted us to be and to take of God’s creation, not worship it. God is the only one who deserves worship by man not anything else.
Semerimus taught that she was the way to God, and she actually took ong the title Queen of Heaven.
This title was used during the days of the Roman Empire for a number of goddesses and was wrongly used as a title for marry. That Marry alone could administer for sinners with a variety of sacraments such as the sprinkling of Holy Water.
Tammuz was killed in a hunting accident and after this to remember his death the temple virgins of this Babylonian cult would enter a 40 day fast as a memorial of his death and supposed resurrection. This pagan act was what Ezekiel saw taking place in the temple of God. This is where the origin of Lent and of the period of indulgences and sinful pleasure beforehand known as carnival or Mardi gras. Neither of these practices have any basses in scripture. After this 40 day fast a joyful feast took place called Ishtar or another word for it would be Easter. At this feast, colored eggs were eaten as a symbol of the resurrection. An evergreen tree was displayed and a Yule log was burned. Finally hot cakes were with the letter T to remind everyone of Tammuz
were baked and eaten. This is the true origin of the Roman Catholic churches Transubstantiation and the mass.
This pagan religion was a fertility cult associated with bizarre sexual perversions and ritual sex with priestesses. This was connected with the death of Tammuz each year (winter) and the sexual rebirth (spring) between the sun (Tammuz) and the earth (Semerimus).
Some of the other doctrines that stemmed from the ancient religion of Babel are: Penance, pilgrimages, mutilation and flagellation, rosary beads, infant baptism, baptismal regeneration, an unmarried priesthood, confessionals, reincarnation, pantheism, nirvana, mantras, shamanism, astrology, yoga (the spiritual version), false ecstatic tongues, meditative relaxation techniques, sun worship, non-rational experiential (subjective) religion, etc."
Amongst all of the vileness of these belief systems that occurred from the Tower of Babel and do to the confusion of the languages a system was given birth to a variety of groups that are put into categories by their religious practices even though they all came from the same place. There are two major titles in which are called Cult
and the Occult.
There is some belief movements that
