About this ebook

Have you ever watched a beautiful sunset and become absorbed into its hues of red, yellow, blue, pink and purple? Have you ever walked in a forest and listened to the insects, the burbling of a brook or the wind blowing the Autumn-colored leaves? Have you ever felt so alone and aftraid, crying for help from God’s son, to lift you up and bring you to Him? I have experienced all these things and have attempted to capture the feelings I had, and the hope I cherished, in words and verses. These poems were written out of feelings of joy and despair, times of comfort and fear, enduring pain or feeling the golden glow within after praying to Christ for aid. I hope these verses can give you warmth, empathy, gratitude, hope and faith that in the end, God is in charge of all and He will never fail you. That even in human death, He is there; and where He is, there is life.

    About the Author

    Introduction

Many people would argue that God does not experience seasons. They base this on the fact that God by nature is eternal and consequently lives beyond what we know as space and time. God is not subject to space or time as we understand them. He is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow (Hebrews 13:8). Yet, based on the experiences I have had in my relationship with God, I believe He does have times when His behavior toward myself, or the world, changes. Therefore, I believe that God does experience seasons, but they are His seasons. They do not alter or transform Him; they are part of His character.

This book is based on the archaic use of the word season. Here, a season is meant to be a proper or suitable time, or an unspecified period of time. These periods of time can be identified by differences in physical condition, mental condition, or spiritual condition in the physical world or within the consciousness and subconsciousness of a human being. For example, a season may be the time when snow falls and it is cold for several months; a time when we are sad because a loved one died; or a time when we are constantly questioning the validity of Jesus’s claims and teaching. But can we talk about seasons with respect to God?

First, God created the seasons of this planet, this universe, this world. He made creation so that it would have variety in both space and time. Therefore, when He created time, He built in different physical manifestations to mark the passage of time: night and day; summer, autumn, winter, spring; dry seasons, wet seasons, monsoon season. I believe that God loves variety and enjoys the seasons of the physical world.

He made the world to have variety in times, which we call seasons. As it says in scripture, "And God said, ‘Let there be lights
