About the Author
Introduction
Many people would argue that God does not experience seasons. They base this on the fact that God by nature is eternal and consequently lives beyond what we know as space and time. God is not subject to space or time as we understand them. He is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow (Hebrews 13:8). Yet, based on the experiences I have had in my relationship with God, I believe He does have times when His behavior toward myself, or the world, changes. Therefore, I believe that God does experience seasons, but they are His seasons. They do not alter or transform Him; they are part of His character.
This book is based on the archaic use of the word season. Here, a season is meant to be a proper or suitable time,
or an unspecified period of time.
These periods of time can be identified by differences in physical condition, mental condition, or spiritual condition in the physical world or within the consciousness and subconsciousness of a human being. For example, a season may be the time when snow falls and it is cold for several months; a time when we are sad because a loved one died; or a time when we are constantly questioning the validity of Jesus’s claims and teaching. But can we talk about seasons with respect to God?
First, God created the seasons of this planet, this universe, this world. He made creation so that it would have variety in both space and time. Therefore, when He created time, He built in different physical manifestations to mark the passage of time: night and day; summer, autumn, winter, spring; dry seasons, wet seasons, monsoon season. I believe that God loves variety and enjoys the seasons of the physical world.
He made the world to have variety in times, which we call seasons. As it says in scripture, "And God said, ‘Let there be lights
