The author was motivated to write this book to encourage the restoration of the observation and commitment to the appointments or calendar of the Most High that was designed for the benefit of humankind. The calendar of the Most High reveals the Gospel and the Salvation plan of the Most High. It also reveals and guides true ways of sacrifices, offerings and worship. While the Children of Israel observed the appointed times (or calendar) in shadow form (pointing to the object to come) the New Testament Church (Congregation) observed the appointed times in OBJECT form and not in shadow forms. The shadow forms prophetically pointed to the Object forms. The shadows were prophecy about the object. As the children of Israel observed the appointed times, they were prophesying about the object forms to come later. We are living in a period where the OBJECT has come already.

 

The following are the benefits to the reader after reading this book:

1. Faith shall grow as the reader notices that the shadows in the scriptures – Genesis to Malachi – were later amplified by the OBJECTS later in the Gospels and also the perfect timing of events over thousands of years.

2. More insight and understanding of the Salvation plan of the Most High in inspired scriptures – Genesis to Revelation.

3. Understanding of the heavenly pattern of offerings, sacrifices and worship guiding believers.

4. Understanding of the spiritual lessons in shadows that were pointing to the objects. The shadow teaches about the object.

 

The reader shall be so much amazed at the divine wisdom of God (Yahweh) that is also expressed in His appointments (calendar) of events outlined in inspired scriptures.

 

"And the LORD spake unto Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt, saying, This month shall be unto you the beginning of months: it shall be the first month of the year to you." (Exodus 12:1-2)

 

The early church (congregation) kept the appointed times as shall be seen in scriptures referred to in this book and they were victorious because of their faith in the Word including the calendar of Yahweh. Perfect timing for everything leads to success and victory. The calendar of the Most High enhances this. When the church (congregation) forgot about the calendar of the Most High she was defeated in almost every area. Restoration of the Calendar of the wise God shall contribute to the success of the church (congregation) in her walk and mission of God.

The author wishes the reader an enjoyable reading and a successful spiritual life.

The author was born in a family of seven and has a humble background full of lessons and experience. He is both an Engineer and Development worker by profession. He has two sons namely Thabo and Tapelo.He has had various work responsibilities ranging from field work to Regional manager and Branch Manager Positions in two different Water and Sanitation Companies in Zambia. Currently he is the Country Coordinator of a Community Based Organization which he founded with likeminded individuals and this is focusing in Education, Community Empowerment, Health and Water & Sanitation thematic areas. He gained this knowledge, skills and experience from an International Donor Organization where he implemented various projects and helped various Zambia based NGOs to develop and implement projects, and sometimes chaired the Organization Projects Committee whose chair was on rotational basis. During this period he provided technical guidance to a number of Zambian based NGOs which thrived successfully in their community reach out programs and projects.He is also a trainer and through this skill and talent he has conducted “Relationships and Marriage” workshops in Zambia, South Africa and Lesotho. Many people‘s relationships and marriages had dramatic positive turn around. It is from such amazing impacts that many people have been requesting the author to write a book which would reach more than the ones he was reaching through workshops and Facebook posts.

The enormous encouragements and counsel from my mother, Mrs Antoinette N. T. Muliwana, from the time I did not believe that I would ever write spiritual books to now, have led to the writing this book and some yet to come. She did not grow weary because of my disbelief, challenges of life, mockery of her counsel, doing the opposite and the lack of interest for close to two decades. She was in constant prayers for me, counselling me every time we met, rebuking me when I resisted the call and doing contrary.

Sometimes I would avoid the topic when with her because I either got discouraged or lost interest or was doing something contrary. Despite all these discouraging, frustrating and negative reactions and responses from me, my mother encouraged herself to continue talking to me and praying for me until time came when I saw the light and believed. This gave birth to numerous writings that I started sharing and lots of positive feedback further ignited my desire to continue in the midst of challenges. Today I clearly see the importance of encouragement, counsel and accountability in everyone’s life because of my mother’s strong faith and consistence.

Very special appreciation, thanks, honour and praises to the Almighty God for choosing me as empty and unfit as I was and sent a prophetess to my life, being my mother, who shared the dream she had about my life and constantly encouraged and counselled me and held me accountable relentlessly because of her unwavering faith.

I owe further debt of appreciation to my mother for tirelessly encouraging and supporting me through the life journey towards achieving my call.

INTRODUCTION

During the six days of creation work, the Most High (Yahweh) created the instruments (Sun, Moon & Stars) for His calendar or appointments and set them up in the firmament of the heavens visible to every place on the earth for signs, seasons, days and years. How can one discern the SIGNS when they are ignoring seasons governed by these instruments?

The Most High created the Sun, Moon and Stars on the 4th day during the creation period. Everything which He created was good and for a purpose which should not be ignored by every human being on earth. Before creating man on the 6th day, He created these instruments on the 4th day.

"And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years: 

And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so. And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light (the moon) to rule the night: he made the stars also. And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth, 

And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good. And the evening and the morning were the fourth day." (Genesis 1:14-19)

The appointed times guided by the Sun, Moon and Stars also guided periods of sacrifices, offerings, worship, prayers and assembly. The Most High in His wisdom set everything to time just like Ecclesiastes 3:1 says that for everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven. Everything is timed.

1 Chronicles 12:32 says that the children of Issachar had understanding of the times to know what Israel ought to do. Similarly, we are supposed to learn and understand the Most High’s appointments (seasons) and appointed times so that we know what we are supposed to do at every particular season to be in line with the will, pattern and purpose of the Most High. One cannot be a true worshipper without knowing this truth and cannot worship well the Spirit Father that designed these things.

The kingdom of God (Elohim) has its own calendar (appointed times) just like any other nation, country or kingdom on earth. Yet nations have made their own calendars and thereafter forgotten about the calendar of the Most High that was supposed to govern humankind’s appointments with Him. Today, the calendar of the Most High is regarded as unnecessary while every country’s calendar on earth is held with high esteem and commitment. God’s calendar has been forgotten or rejected and downtrodden. The Sun, Moon and Stars guiding the calendar of the Most High are also the source of every human calendar as without them all these calendars would have been without base.

The whole world was supposed to depend upon and uphold the calendar of the Most High that created its instruments (Sun, Moon and Stars).

All true prophets for example, Moses, Daniel, Isaiah and Elijah in the scriptures observed and were committed to the appointed times or the calendar of the Most High. God’s covenant people, children of Israel, knew and observed the appointed times of God according to their seasons and times. The sent Saviour and Messiah kept the appointed times. His birth, death, resurrection, walking on water and feasts observance were according to the appointed times or appointments of the Most High. The Apostles and the new Testament Church (Congregation) observed the appointed times in OBJECT form and not in shadow form (like the prophets and children of Israel of old). The appointed times of the Most High are clearly outlined from Genesis to Revelation. Yahweh has timed everything.

The scope of this book is to try and inspire the reader to be keen in the divine calendar of the Most High, observe it and also share with others so that it may be restored to the original position in the lives, minds and hearts of believers as it was upheld in the old where it guided God’s people about the times and seasons He set up for His people.

Usage of words like God and differences in the way we call the Creator should not make the reader miss out on the GIST of this book which is to improve their relationship and walk with the Most High and the restoration of the heavenly pattern of praising and worshipping Him.

It is not the scope of this book to discuss the name of the Most High and His Son. The author is asking the reader not to focus on religious terms and any unnecessary issues that may deter them from reading the whole book. The reader shall notice that most of the things in the old were done according to the appointed times and that the birth, death, resurrection and ascension of the Messiah were exactly according to the appointed times of Elohim (God).

Events from Matthew to Revelation were according to the times as shall be noticed when reading this book. The Exodus journey from Egypt to the Promised Land was well planned and timed as shall be compared with the calendar of the Most high and this journey reveals the Gospel, the life journey of a believer and the work of the Messiah. The appointed times shall be noticed in books of the inspired scriptures from Genesis to Revelation and the reader shall be inspired and amazed at the divine wisdom of the Most High who planned and timed all these things and events in scriptures. The reader’s faith shall be ignited and shall have deeper understanding of how to walk with God (Elohim) just like Enoch perfectly walked with God while on earth. To walk with God one needs guidance from His Spirit and the Word. His Word reveals His laws, statutes, judgments and appointed times or His calendar. The true Gospel and God’s plan of salvation plan are also revealed in the appointed times.

It is not the scope of this book to focus on correct names or terms accepted in the religious community as follows: Some instead of the term God prefer to use Elohim, instead of the term Christ prefer to use Messiah, instead of Lord prefer Master, instead of Grace prefer Favour, instead of Glory prefer Esteem and so on. It is not the scope of this book to focus on such differences and preferences in various terms. The author is requesting the reader not to allow such differences from deterring them from reading this book but to focus on the meaning. In the book you shall find the name Yahweh or short form YHWH being used for Elohim (God) but that does not mean this discredits others who call Him Jehovah or otherwise and hence the reader is requested not to focus on that but the content of this book.

The writer has chosen to use the terms calendar and appointments interchangeably to bridge understanding gap between those that know about appointments as calendar and those that understand that the appointments are similar to our secular calendars.

Chapter One

CREATION

2.1  The Creation Work

(a)  Events on Creation Days

DAY 1 - Genesis 1:1-5

HEAVEN, EARTH & LIGHT

"A

nd, Thou, Lord, in the beginning hast laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of thine hands:" (Heb 1:10)

By the word of the LORD were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth (Psalm 33:6) 

"Thus saith the LORD, thy redeemer, and he that formed thee from the womb, I am the LORD that maketh all things; that stretcheth forth the heavens alone; that spreadeth abroad the earth by myself;" (Isaiah 44:24) 

He hath made the earth by his power, he hath established the world by his wisdom, and hath stretched out the heavens by his discretion (Jeremiah 10:12)

"For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ" (2 Corinthians 4:6)

"The day is thine, the night also is thine: thou hast prepared the light and the sun" (Psalm 74:16) 

Thou hast set all the borders of the earth: thou hast made summer and winter (Psalm 74:17) 

The EARTH was without form and void; it could not yet sustain life.

"I beheld the earth, and, lo, it was without form, and void; and the heavens, and they had no light" (Jeremiah 4:23)

"And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness" (Genesis 1:4) 

DAY 2 - Genesis 1:6-8

ATMOSPHERE (which He called HEAVEN)

The Atmosphere became life supporting on EARTH. The Most High later called the firmament (Atmosphere) as Heaven.

"To him that by wisdom made the heavens: for his mercy endureth for ever" (Psalm 136:5)  

DAY 3 - Genesis 1:9-13

EARTH & SEAS

The Earth appeared after it was separated from the waters. There was now an atmosphere to support life including plant life.

He gathereth the waters of the sea together as a heap: he layeth up the depth in storehouses (Psalm 33:7)

"To him that stretched out the earth above the waters: for his mercy endureth for ever" (Psalm 136:6)

"Know ye that the LORD he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people and the sheep of his pasture" (Psalm 100:3) 

"What is man, that thou art mindful of him? And the son of man, that thou visitest him? For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour. Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet:" (Psalm 8:4-6) 

Therewith bless we God, even the Father; and therewith curse we men, which are made after the similitude of God. (James 3:9) 

Lo, this only have I found, that God hath made man upright; but they have sought out many inventions (Ecclesiastes 7:29)

DAY 7 - Genesis 2:1-3

CEASED WORK

And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. (Genesis 2:2) 

BLESSED & SANCTIFIED THE DAY

And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made. (Genesis 2:3)

(b)  BLESSINGS AT CREATION

Everything that God blessed at Creation is still blessed even today.

WATER CREATURES & FOWLS

And God blessed them, saying, be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth. (Genesis 1:22) 

MANKIND

And God blessed them, and God said unto them, be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth. (Genesis 1:28)
