About this ebook

The book entitled “To My Garden” is a collection of poems, parables and quotations. Also included in the book are some of my drawings that I thought would accompany several of the poems. Some of the poems could be considered “Christian” while others are not. I think some poems should incite emotion in a reader and ideas. Ideas and emotion can go hand in hand but they don’t have to in poetry. I also think that poetry opens up the unconscious as well as comes from it. In other words a poem is an experience and not just a set of words arranged so a reader can “get it.”

Edward Holman

My name is Edward Holman and I was born in Detroit, MI. I attended Wayne State University and North Central MI college. I got my Bachelor of Science degree at Grand Valley State University in Grand Rapids where I now live. I have been writing poetry most of my life. While in Grand Rapids I got involved in the poetry scene and a local publication for which I wrote articles and poetry. I still spend time reading and writing poetry and I am currently working on putting together another collection to be published after this one.
