FOREWORD
What you are holding in your hand represents the commitment of a person deeply concerned with the serving actions of every Christian in ministry and helping them finding their best and highest functioning level. Pastor Michael C. Champion has immersed himself into the perils of urban ministry for over 35 years and possesses rich insights into the benefits practical wisdom, humility and proper decorum offers every believer in ministry. This compact book of helps is a helper manual
offering practical guidance by the voice of one which aims to help aid and give prudence. As iron-sharpens-iron let the advice offered in this manual become your sidekick, your deputy, adjunct and helper.
Consider what God has ordered and/or is, ordering for your future? Reading Mark’s gospel introduces us to the Old Testament’s foretelling of, an unknown emerging voice of one …
(Mk 1.3) John the Baptist. The voice of the Baptist becomes the primary agent in the preparation of the way for the Son of God. As the preparer of the way, his is a voice and agent helping, another in ministry. In doing so, John the Baptist passes his torch (ministry) of victory to Jesus to help realize what the Father has ordained for His Son. I say torch of victory, despite his troubles, tribulations, trials, temptations, test and times. John the Baptist did declare his own help (efforts) in the role God had assigned for him saying, … I indeed have baptized you with water …
but he speaks this about himself, only in contrast to the greater help (the Son of God) Jesus has promised to administer each of us for our own triumphal victory, by the Holy Ghost.
Like John the Baptist, the voice of Michael C. Champion can be clearly heard in this manual crying out to those of us in minis try to accept his experiences, his torch of victory, his trials, tribulations and tests by way of his voice piercing through this manual helping each of us. Use this book to advise you in your everyday affairs in ministry. Let its voice be a guiding voice and its torch become a familiar torch you utilize to ensure you ultimately triumph along life’s journey in ministry God has ordered for you.

CONVERSION
Every person who utters ‘I am saved’, or ‘God has called me’ must have a genuine conversion or changed life. There is a word associated with conversions called spurious. The word spurious means not being what it purports to be; false or fake; apparent but not actually valid.
Two scriptures support this: St. Luke 6:43-44 (For a good tree does not bear fruit. For every tree is known by his own fruit.) And St. Mark chapter 4. Versed 3-7 (spurious fruit) and/or verse 8 (spurious fruit vs. good fruit).
A) Your conversion should have a history: date, witnesses and testimony from others.
B) If conversion is recent, once must wait on ministry.
1 Timothy 3:6, 1 Peter 5:5-6, Romans 12:7
C) Conversion is a sign of a changed heart and mind and behavior.
2 Corinthians 5:17, 1 Peter 4:7-11
When one is converted, a change takes place on the inside, (2 Corinthians 5-17) and shows up on the outside.
A person who has truly been converted begins to seek God or learn about Christ and the Holy Spirit. 1 Peter 2:1-3, and hungers for a deep relationship with his creator; something they didn’t have before conversion. 1 Corinthians 2:13-14
Once a person has been converted, a spiritual awakening takes place, and baptism is a necessity. Acts 8:26-39 Since conversion is the entrance to the kingdom of God, the converted person’s spiritual life takes on a whole new
